Script 22: Curtain call

Start from the beginning

Sure, they can get annoying and always seem to want to get under the girl's skin, but they care. Yunjin was nice to them when they first met. She didn't compete with them, didn't look down on them.

Yunjin was a good person.

"But, she was here. To me, it seemed that she didn't want to leave. The moment you were put here, she came and never left. She stayed outside this infirmary until the game ended."

The redhead felt her stomach churn. She felt her heart beating faster but tightening at the same time.

It must be because of what Yeonjun said. She felt that maybe Chaewon had stayed there for her because she cared.

But the tightening feeling may have been because Chaewon stayed out of guilt for Yunjin.

She did come in to check up on her earlier, but Yunjin refused to hear what she had to say.

Maybe Chaewon stayed and was hoping to be able to talk to her.

"She came in. I refused to talk to her," Yunjin mumbled.

The three boys shared a look as if they were trying to communicate wordlessly with Yeonjun. Wordlessly telling him to be careful with the words he would use.

"I just want you to know that... deep down, I know Chaewon cares. I may not know her enough, but a person just doesn't stay for so long for someone in an infirmary for nothing, right?"

Yunjin thinks about it.

Something within her knows what Yeonjun was saying is true.

Chaewon can be mean... can be very hateful.

The amount of hate within someone so small is actually impressive if you ask Yunjin, but she wouldn't say that in front of Chaewon.

But, sure, Chaewon can also be the kindest and most gentlest woman on earth.

If she would just try... for Huh Yunjin.

"I'll talk to her when I get the chance."

Yeonjun didn't know what else to say. It's not like he's advocating for Chaewon, not really. He doesn't know the very depths of the lore between the two.

However, someone with simple thinking, such as Yeonjun, sees and feels it. Chaewon and Yunjin could be on good terms if they both try.

To be honest, it was painful for Yeonjun to see them acting like this.

Well, it's not like they weren't acting like this before. Their dynamic has just... become more... chaotic.

This is quite true considering what has transpired between them recently.

Yeonjun knows he's not the only one struggling whenever he sees the two girls fight or interact.

Maybe it was a good thing that he was the one to actually talk to Yunjin about it and point things out.

"Yujin and the others will visit you later," Yeonjun says when he thinks he has already done what he could.

Jongseong pats Yeonjun on the back as if telling him he did well before they both turn their backs, walking towards the door.

Heeseung, on the other hand, hasn't left yet. He looks at Yunjin and lays a hand on her shoulder.

"Heal quickly." He says, "Or I'll take your spot on the play."

There was a hint of playfulness in his voice, which slightly lifted Yunjin's mood. He offered her a small smile before turning away and leaving just like the two other boys.
