The mere thought of Yunjin looking helpless inside the infirmary caused her entire body pain. This feeling is new. It was weird, but she felt pity and wanted nothing but Yunjin to feel better.
She swallows her emotions as she looks at Sieun, "How's the others holding up?"
Sieun notices how Chaewon diverts her attention towards something else quickly. She doesn't comment on it.
Sieun sighs as she looks around the hall. She sees the basketball boys slowly approaching them, and Sieun looks back at Chaewon. "Well... they.." She huffs. "They're celebrating in their own ways."
Chaewon wanted to laugh at what Sieun said. She knows none of them are in the mood to celebrate. She knows the whole academy is not in the mood.
The boys stopped just before them, and Sieun was the only one who acknowledged them. She looks at them with that questioning look, waiting for them to speak up. Jongseong opened his mouth first, "The bus is waiting for all of us."
"That quick?" Sieun raised an eyebrow, and all of them nodded in unison.
"Coach figured the others didn't have any business staying here," Yeonjun spoke, sitting beside Chaewon as he let out a silent huff. "They want everyone else to go back to the academy."
"And the basketball team?" Sieun asks.
"We stay if we want." It was Heeseung who spoke now. He had his hands inside his pocket, and Sieun had only noticed how tired and sad they all looked.
"The girls are in the locker rooms. I'm pretty sure the ACE academy's basketball team is getting lectured in their own locker rooms." Heeseung adds.
"I heard the academy might sue." Yeonjun crosses his arms as he leans back against the wall.
"As they should! They've caused enough problems for us already. Jake's still recovering, and they do it to Yunjin, too? They surely aren't that lucky to get away with this." A noticeable hint of frustration seeped through Jongseong's voice as he spoke.
They may not admit it out loud, but they all care about the girls on their basketball team. Sieun would know. They may be troublesome boys but she knows how passionate and nice they actually are to the people around them.
They were nothing like those fools in ACE Academy's teams. These boys were better in all aspects.
"You two should go." Heeseung talks to Sieun once more.
Sieun then quickly turned and looked at Chaewon, who, until now, hadn't said a word or reacted to any of them.
There were a lot of things going on in Chaewon's head. But at the same time, the thoughts in her head were too little to even block out everyone's voices.
She was expecting to hear something about Yunjin's condition. She got nothing.
It only led to her thinking more about the younger girl.
Chaewon slightly flinches when she feels a hand lay softly atop her shoulder. She let out a shaky sigh before turning her head and making eye contact with Sieun.
"It's best if we leave with the others." The theater club president suggests.
Chaewon didn't want to leave, but as she looked at the three boys' faces, she knew she had to go.
They all had this look on their faces.
Like they were all silently telling her to up and leave with Sieun and the others. Like Chaewon didn't have a reason to stay...
Does she really have a reason, though?
She does.
As long as it had something to do with Yunjin, yes, she does have a good reason to stay. That's what she thinks.
