"What? An application?" I asked, looking at the boys in front of me as Ga-min handed me a slip of paper.
"It was under the door when I got here this morning." Ga-min explained and I took the paper out of his hands, scanning over it.
"What? Lee Ji-wu?" I looked up at them with my mouth wide in disbelief. "Hyeon-wu's sister? Lee Ji-Wu?"
"You know her?" Se-hyeon asked, looking hopeful. I met his eyes.
"There's no way she applied," I shook my head. "This has to be a prank."
"Why?" Se-hyeon asked.
"We should still ask her, right? We need six members." Ga-min nodded and started to walk away. "Can you show me where her classroom is?"
"Ga-min, wait—" but there was no use, was already at the stairs. I looked back at Se-hyeon. "She can't join, please."
"Why? What's wrong?" Se-hyeon reached for my arm but I moved away. He looked at me and then down at the way I tugging at the hem of my sleeve. "Did she do something to you?"
I shook my head. "We used to be friends, but not anymore, just—Can you please tell Ga-min to not go to her?"
Se-hyeon sighed and walked past me, jogging to catch up with Ga-min. I followed him, when we finally found him he had already found the classroom on his own and was now peaking through the door. He waved me forward when he saw us. "Can you point her out to me?"
"Ga-min, can we find another—"
"Oh, I think I see her. She's Hyeon-wu's sister, right?" He wasn't paying me any attention and I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose in frustration.
Se-hyeon tapped my arm carefully. "You said she wouldn't actually apply, maybe you're right. Maybe someone applied for her and she'll just tell Ga-min no."
I bit my lip. "If she says anything to you...don't believe it, okay? Ga-min you too—" but when I turned to face Ga-min, he was already gone.
"Lee Ji-Wu!" I jumped at the sound of her name and peaked through the classroom windows. A girl was at Ji-Wu's desk now causing a scene. "Did I tell you to put the lunch menu on my desk or no?" Ji-Wu didn't respond and the girl in front of her landed a slap square across her cheek. "Why do you ignore me and ruin my mood?" Se-hyeon and I watched as the girl snatched a paper from Hee-won, Ji-wu's best friends's, desk. "What is this? Midtern preparation?" She laughed, "You idiots are trying so fucking hard." She tossed the paper to the ground and turned her gaze back ti Hee-won. "Shit, how dare you look at me like that?" She raised her hand to slap Hee-won but was stopped when Ji-wu grabbed her arm.
"I said you could only hit me." Ji-Wu twisted the girl's arm and then pulled her back again.
"Let go, you fucking bitch." She slapped Ji-wu. "Let go." She landed a kick straight into Ji-wu's abdomen and sent her to the ground.
Se-hyeon sighed next to me. "Thank god you transferred to our class." I just nodded.
The girl hovered over Ji-Wu and continued to curse. "I'll kill you if you don't put the lunch menu on my desk by next period." She suddenly spat her gum out so that it would land on the midterm preparation plan below her feet, only for Ga-min to enter the scene and catch the gum before it touched the papers. He picked up the paper and began to admire it.
"What's with you?" The girl asked as Ga-min continued to gawk over the midterm plan. "Who are you, you bastard!"
I tensed when another voice entered the scene. "Why is it so fucking loud in here?" The long haired boy pointed his disciplinary stick at Ga-min. "Hey, you're the kid that beat Hyeon-wu?"
