Chapter 7:

Y/N had no idea how she was still standing. One minute, CarryMinati had roasts flying left and right, the next, he was making her feel like the world had paused—just with a simple, unexpected compliment.

As the event wrapped up, the crowd still buzzing from the energy, Y/N was backstage, trying to compose herself. She’d made it through the roast, the dare, the stage—all of it. And yet, something about the way Carry had looked at her when he said those words made her heart race.

“Dude, I swear I could feel the tension,” her best friend texted her. “Are you sure you two are just friends? Because that wasn’t just roasting.”

Y/N stared at the message for a good five minutes, debating how to respond. She was about to fire off a sarcastic reply when her phone buzzed again.

carryminati: Ghar pahuncha?

Y/N blinked. What was with him and checking in on her now?

Y/N: Yup. Barely survived your roast show. So you should feel proud of yourself.

carryminati: Barely survived? I thought I made you blush there, madam.

Y/N rolled her eyes. You wish.

Y/N: By the way, nice job today. You’re almost human.

carryminati: Areeh, tu toh bilkul friendly lag rahi hai aaj.

Y/N stared at the message. Was that his idea of a compliment?

She quickly typed, You’re not getting away with that. Try again.

carryminati: Okay, okay, serious—if anyone can handle my madness, it’s you.

Y/N blinked. That was… unexpected. She hadn’t been prepared for the sincerity in that message.

Before she could process it, her phone buzzed again—

carryminati: Wanna grab coffee sometime?

Her heart skipped a beat. Coffee? With CarryMinati?

The "roast king," the guy who had single-handedly humiliated her in front of millions, was now casually asking her to hang out?

Her fingers hovered over the keyboard. This wasn’t a dare. It wasn’t a joke. It felt real.

She took a deep breath.

Y/N: Fine, I’ll allow it. But no roasts. Only coffee.

carryminati: Deal. But you owe me a real compliment next time. I’m not always the roast king, you know.

Her face softened. You’re impossible.

carryminati: You love it.

She smiled to herself. There it was again—that strange, inexplicable pull toward him.

Maybe this whole ‘game’ was turning into something she hadn’t expected.
