The Academy

My first battle!

Calum ran straight at Adam, wings unfurling as he charged, he flapped them a few times and started to hover above the ground eventually flying towards Adam. He covered his head with his arms and rammed right into Adam knocking him down. Calum swooped upward to avoid being hit. Adam growled and yelled at one of the guys. "START A GRACIEN CURSE!" The boy responded with a nod and kneeled on the ground closing his eyes and started chanting. Circular symbols appeared around him in the air and on the ground. He opened his eyes and they were white. He started rotating and moving the symbols around. Meanwhile, I sat there and watched as my team mates fight, not able to do anything. I looked over at Amanda she was currently in a fist fight with one of the guys. She dodged one of his punches and countered with a palm heel to the chest, as she hit him and little wave came pulsated out of his chest. He was knocked into the air and flew really slowly. She laughed at that but, couldn't celebrate to long as one of the guys came at her. He had the ability to stretch his body parts so he hit from afar. He hit her in the face and knocked her back a few feet. My attention was turned to Abigail as she was throwin guys off her left and right. She was finally surrounded and she shot Force at the ground causing it to go in all directions pushing all the guys away. All of a sudden a giant tornado filled the middle of the room. Xavier was in the center of it and he was knocking guys into the air and pushing them back. It finally died down and he called out to Tracy and Abigail, "Abigail Tracy Cannonball!" They both nodded and ran over to him. Tracy set her entire body on fire curled into a ball and started rolling in place. Abigail started gathering Force in between her hands. Finally Xavier positioned himself behind Tracy and pushed her upwards with a small twister. She almost touched the ceiling which was 40 feet up and pushed off of it. She came back down fast and just before she hit the ground Abigail shot her with a Force ball. She was sent off faster than a bullet heading straight for Adam. He didn't have time to react, but Bianca did. She jumped in front of him and summoned a thick rock wall in front of them. Tracy didn't see it and slammed right into it. She fell to the floor moaning. Bianca didn't hesitate to summon a small pillar of rock to shoot Tracy back 20 feet. Abigail growled at her "Damn girl she'll pay for that." She turned to yell at me "Violet you must help! We can not do this alone!" "But, I don't know what to do!" "Just feel it and let it out! I know you can do it" "Well...if I have to!" I don't know what happened next but all I heard was someone shout "Look out! Duck!" The boy that had started the curse finally finished and shot the curse out. It was headed straight for me at lightning speed. Everyone leaped out of the way but I just stood there unable to move as I watched with horror the ball a dark energy flying straight toward me. The ball bit me in the stomach and I had the wind knocked out of me. The energy wrapped itself around me and expanded into a sphere that floated in the air. "Violet!" Austin ran toward the sphere and grew vines around it. Tracy came over trying to help, "What are you doing Austin? Vines aren't gonna help!" "I'm trying to contract it and pull her out. There's a short moment to get a person out of a Gracien curse but it's very quick." Tracy just sighed and started shooting flames at the sphere. I couldn't do anything I just sat there floating in a dark bubble waiting for what was coming next. I saw a little beam of light and saw the sphere getting smaller and smaller. "Great I'm gonna get crushed to death. Well at least it'll be quick." But instead of dying I felt something wrap around my stomach I was lurched forward and pulled to the ground. "Violet! Are you ok?" Austin was helping me up keeping his hands under my arms to keep me on my feet. "Yeah I think so, that was really weird. What happened?" "You were cursed. That one in particular is deadly it crushes you to death. Can you stand?" "Yeah and now I'm ready to fight." "Awesome show 'em what you got." I didn't know what to do but I just tried something. I got on my knees and touched the floor. The entire floor frosted over. "Woah, that's cool." No one took notice to it so I took it to my advantage. I just thought about focusing my power. "Alright, I can do this." I visualized what I wanted to happen but nothing happened. "Grr c'mon! Work!" I touched the ground again. Nothing. "C'mon! I need to help my team!" I touched the frost again "WORK DAMMIT!" I punched the ground this time. "Work. Work! WORK!" I punched the ground with each word harder each time. On the last punch I felt something surge through me. An immense feeling of power. I could finally feel the power of ice. I felt freezing cold but it didn't hurt. Snow swirled around my hand and my palm turned blue and glowed a little. I touched the ground again and felt the surge of power leave me. A wave of snow traveled across the ground all around the room. I knew I could do it now. "Get ready guys!" I raised my arms and giant spikes of ice shot out of the ground. Everyone was caught of guard and screamed when a spike appeared next to them. One boy was unlucky enough to have one come up right behind him and go up his shirt carrying him up with it. Everyone stopped fighting and stared at me. Adam spoke up first "What the hell? Ice!? How do you have power over ice?! That power is ancient and forbidden! Someone needs to do some real explaining right now!" I was too focused on myself to notice the outcome of the battle. A few guys were soaked in water and Alex was surrounded by a water sphere. Austin had a few guys with some vines and roots. Calum was bloody and bruised while Alex had bloody scratch marks on his face and arms. Abigail and Amanda were a little hurt as well. Tracy was still on the ground unconscious. "Never mind, I have no idea what's going on but I don't want to be apart of it anymore." Adam and his gang ran out of the door. "So heheh I guess what I did was good?" Calum ran up to me "It was awesome! You summoned huge spikes of ice!" "I didn't really mean to it just...happened." "Well I'm glad you did it! It ran them off!" Everyone came over to me congratulating me and patting me on the back. It felt...good.

"We need to start excavations here." "Yes sir." "We must find the Ignies chamber. It's the only way we can continue with this charade." "I know sir but we can't just start so suddenly we need preparations and people to help with the digging and-" "I KNOW WHAT WE NEED! *sigh* I know the costs and the stakes of this operation. I'm just a very impatient man with a very important mission." "I know sir...I'll start preparations immediately." "Thank you Deborah. I will find this chamber even its the last thing I do."
