I just can't stop thinking of you, Wherever You Are - 5 Seconds of Summer.

Violet - Monday

"Violet come on, you need to go out." My annoying best friend knocks on my door and I sigh, rolling over to my other side and look out the window. The weather outside matched my mood perfectly, sad and depressed.

"Vi, come on. We'll go to the bookstore and we'll get that book you wanted." She suggested.

Books.

That's one of the things holding me up. Books, music, my annoying best friend Lydia and of course... The letters from Harry. You'd probably wonder where he is, I wonder too. He's a soldier, part of the military. He was send to Afghanistan, he isn't allowed to go in further detail. I miss him like crazy, we've never been separated for five years. And it's only been a week, how pathetic of me. We're not married, but I could see myself sitting with him and two kids. He's the love of my life.

"Violet!" Lydia knocks on the door again and I groan, throwing the duvet away, "Fine Lydia, I'm coming."

I swear I heard her scream in victory.

I shake my head at her childish behaviour and get out of bed, almost falling over the many books I've read the past days. Told you, books are my cure.

I open my closet and hesitate on what to wear. It's not cold outside, that I know because I've seen girls walk around in shorts. And it stopped raining, so I guess I'll go for my grey skirt. It ends just above my knee and starts around my high waist. It's Harry's favourite thing so I guess I'll go for that. And together with that, I put on a simple white top, a brown/orange coloured cardigan and brown Oxford shoes. Not too warm and not too cold, perfect.

I put my hair in a bun, leaving my bangs out and brush my teeth. I put on little makeup such as concealer and mascara, it's only the library. I grab my brown messenger bag with my phone and wallet in it and walk out my bedroom, seeing Lydia eating cereal. What to say about Lydia?

Well for starters, people think we're sisters. We're both tall and are glued together for life. But we're different though. Like, she has longer hair than me, she's more confident than me, she hates books and she is a lot more outgoing than me. Overall, we fit perfect together. Where she has less, I have more and the opposite.

"There you are!" She grins and puts the bowl down, grabbing her bag. She was wearing shorts and a crop top, showing her belly piercing. She has the perfect body, a tight gab and a flat stomach. She could be a model if she wanted to.

"Why do you even consider going to the bookstore? You hate books." I ask while putting some paper and a pen in my bag. I have to answer the letter Harry send me.

"I want the best for you. I'd probably feel depressed too if Niall had to go to Afghanistan." She tells with a sympathetic smile. Her and Niall dated as long as I dated Harry. Harry and him are best friends and we four met each other at a party from our school. I immediately fell for Harry. Not for his looks, but for how sweet and gentle he was. He still is, caring and love giving.

           "Let's go."

✵✵✵

"So... What book were you looking for?" Lydia asks me while we looked through the old brown wooden bookstore. It smelled amazing here.

"The Book Thief." I answer while brushing my fingers over the books, Lydia groaning.

"You've read that over a million times."

I shrug at her reply and look further.

"Shall I go and get some Starbucks?" The obsession for Starbucks can't be left out.

"A caramel latte would do." I smile and Lydia rolls her eyes, "You always take the same."

"Well you're taking either a frappe chocolate or a Chocolate & Cream, so don't talk to me about taking the same." I tell with a smile and she groans. We say goodbye and she leaves the store. I shake my head at her and begin to look for the book again. Book Thief, Book Thief...

There it is.

I smile widely and walk to a table in the corner, sitting down with the messenger back on the chair next to me. I open the book and start reading.

Living in the World War II would have been... A hell. So much sadness and anger because of one person, who only wanted more power. Germany had it bad too, you can read that in this book. Berlin was ruined by us, British people. That war was all about revenge, people don't act normal when they are angry and want revenge.

I read the first two chapters, already having sympathy for the girl in the book. I wouldn't know what to do if I were her.

I sigh deeply and close the book, grabbing the paper and pen. I miss him so dearly.

Dear Harry,

We're all okay here, how are you?

Lydia and Niall went out yesterday, leaving me alone again. So I read Hamlet from William Shakespeare. God I swear I've read over twenty books since you left.

I'm reading The Book Thief right now, I'm the bookstore we came together. I can't imagine what people would have felt like when they lived then. So scared, I shiver when I think about it.

Promise me you will come home, I just need to know. I won't be able to pick my life up without you.

I love you,

Come home...

Yours sincerely.

Hello everyone! Thank you for clicking on this story and are ready to read it (:

Also, these ideas are completely mine. I know there are a lot of stories of girl writing to their loved ones in the army, but the ideas I put behind it are mine so I would appreciate if you didn't steal or made rude comments about it. ;)

I hope you'll enjoy it and don't forget to check out my other story named Night Changes.

Have a nice day or night, whatever it is where you live hahaxx -J
