Resident Evil.
Leon S. Kennedy is your husband.
"What was that? Why did you freeze in your place back there?"
"Because I was scared?"
"Scared?"
He stared at you like you'd just announced you were afraid of kittens.
"Yes, Scared! You know, that thing normal people feel when they're surrounded by criminals?"
Leon sighed heavily, his shoulders sagging in disbelief.
"Then you should have listened to me when I told you to stay at home instead of following me around."
"You are correct, I should have stayed home instead."
Leon's eyebrows raise in surprise at the fact you didn't argue with him on that matter like you usually do.
"Wait... you're agreeing with me?" he asked, his voice laced with suspicion.
You folded your arms across your chest, glancing away.
"Yes, Leon. For once, you're right. I should've stayed home; this isn't my job. I'm not cut out for all this."
Indeed, you are a gamer, not a real-life hero who saves the lives of others.
That is just too much of a responsibility to begin with.
Leon stared at you for a moment before stepping closer.
His gloved hand reached out, gently lifting your chin so you had no choice but to look into his piercing blue eyes.
"Hey," he said softly, his tone suddenly more gentle.
"I didn't mean to make you feel like you are lesser... I just don't want to see you get hurt."
You squeal in your head at his touch, but on the outside, you stay calm and smile.
"No, what I mean is I prefer staying at home and playing games."
"Since when, unless you mean other types of games."
Now, Leon is saying those types of implications.
Well, he surely doesn't know how to take hints.
But again, he is your husband, which makes this a lot more wholesome for you.
"Are you finished, lovebirds?"
Your head snaps around to see a handsome man wearing a red turtle neck sweater and black leather trousers.
What is with the game developer genderbending everyone?
But the male version of Ada Wong should be considered a warning.
Because you are feeling flustered right now and even your 'husband' noticed
And boy he is anything but happy.
"Adrian, I told you to wait outside."
Leon's voice was sharp, tinged with irritation, as his glare locked on the man now leaning casually against the wall.
Adrian smirked in response, his dark eyes gleaming with challenge.
"Well, I got bored," Adrian said nonchalantly, as he adjusted the cuffs of his leather jacket.
"And it's not every day I get to see Leon S. Kennedy act like a territorial husband, but I can see why."
Leon stiffened, his jaw tightening.
"Just stay out of it."
Adrian chuckled, pushing himself off the wall.
He ignored Leon entirely and turned his attention to you, his gaze sweeping over you in a way that made you feel uneasy.
"Tell me, sweetheart," Adrian said, his voice practically dripping with charm,
"How does someone like you end up tangled in his messes? You seem far too smart to put up with all... this."
He gestured around the room, clearly referring to whatever dangerous situation Leon had dragged you into.
Leon's hand moved instinctively to your shoulders, pulling you closer to him.
"Adrian, I said back off."
The said man holds his hands up in fake surrender.
"Relax, I'm just being friendly."
"Friend? You need to-"
You cut off Leon, not wanting an argument to escalate.
"As much as fun this testosterone-fueled standoff is, I believe we should get going."
Adrian raised an eyebrow, clearly impressed.
"Feisty. I like her."
Leon's hand tightened protectively on you, and you swore you saw his eye twitch.
"She's my wife,"
"Lucky man," Adrian replied, not removing his eyes from you.
"Fine, I will behave for now."
He is not going to behave at all.
