5: Chunin?
Naru and Kakashi stood across from Minato ready to pounce. The jingle of the two silver bells tied on a red string located on the jounin's belt tempted them to complete their assignment, however difficult it may be.
"Come on," He taunted, waving his hand. On the side stood Sakumo, Obito, Rin, and Hotaru watching the upcoming spar. Both genin ran around the man crossing over, Kakashi nodded to Naru who threw shuriken and kunai at him which he dodged with a flip. He landed on the balls of his feet and cocked his head catching the glint of wires attached to the weapons embedded on the ground.
'Hm?'
"Baku!" Naru called, the ground under his feet exploded, he stumbled before catching his footing, Kakashi yanked his arms back, yanking the broken ground out from under his feet before disappearing. Both genin shot through the smoke their blades drawn, Minato countered with his own kunai catching both. He looked at them both keeping them at bay despite their pushes.
"Gotta be better than that," He taunted.
"Like this?" Minato grunted as a copy of Naru appeared and slid through them and reached for the bells, he jumped back as she flicked the silver bell, Kakashi leaned in and flicked one before Minato kicked him down on top of Naru and skidded back. 'They've gotten good.'
"Alright, Naru the new one!" Kakashi ordered her, Minato arched a brow as they stood side by side.
"Seidenkai boruto no jutsu!" Both yelled holding their palms out, Naru rushed forward and jumped in the air him and yelled holding her palm out, static grew causing his hair to rise before a bolt of lightning shone, he dropped just in time to dodge as it connected their hands. Minato yelped as a stray bolt hit him, he huffed as he shook his tingling hand. 'When did they put a charge on me?' He wondered before recalling their single flick to the bells.
"What's wrong Tou-chan? Going too fast for you?" Naru taunted her father, he shot her a look making her giggle before running forward. Kakashi ran in front and focused slapping his palms on the ground.
"Dengeki no ami!" Lightning shot up from the ground around Minato creating a net, Minato brought his chakra up on his hand and swiped at the net shoving it to the side. He dodged Kakashi's advance before Naru used Kakashi's back as a springboard.
"Konoha Reppu!" She yelled and spun around quickly kicking up dirt and creating a swirl of wind that knocked the lightning net back to him, he stuttered and cried out as it hit and knocked him back.
"YES!" Naru cheered with a jump before a kunai was pressed against her neck.
"Not quite," Minato said in her ear, Kakashi went to move but found another kunai to his and Minato's chuckle in his ear. "You both lose," both children huffed, Naru pouted and kicked at the dirt as the clones disappeared and Minato pulled the kunai from her neck.
"Stupid kage bunshin," Naru muttered, Minato laughed and patted her head.
"Be proud, you guys got me a few times," He complimented and noted the burns and tears in his clothes, his hand had a bruise and a small burn on it. "That's more than anyone's done in a long time,"
"He's right," Sakumo called drawing them back to their audience, Obito's jaw hung slack.
"Wow," He stated, Naru smiled at him.
"No one's gotten that close to getting these," Minato said reaching for the bells as a small bolt of static caused him to curse.
"Oooh I'm telling Kaa-chan!" Naru taunted, he huffed before he picked her up and spun her around making her giggle.
