Lean On Me

Foreword

Thank you for picking up Lean On Me! You can totally skip this foreword and go in completely blind, or you can let me explain myself first (I feel like this needs a little explaining but that might be my self doubt)

The main storyline of this fic will follow the main character Samira and her romance with her two soulmates Mingyu and Jungkook. Samira is Indian - she is based off a conglomeration of three close Indian friends I have, and also one Pakistani friend. There's a little bit of all of them and their struggles in the character building, but mostly my friend Koo who is Indian, and actually contributed a fair bit to how I built this character. However, I am not Indian myself, and I do not live in India, so I may have got some things wrong.

That being said - I am Seungcheol/Joshua/Jeonghan biased, so I put in a character for myself as well, and there will be a decent portion of plot about their soul bond too. One of my favourite things about Cheol is how he protects and takes care of his members. I was having a conversation with Koo about some stuff she was going through and my brain went hey, what if I just adopt you and protect you from the world? And what if I brought my boyfriends to help me coz they already have like 10 kids they know what to do already. (We love delusional thoughts here ok) and thus, this fic was born. The prologue is like 80% self indulgence on my part about Cheol and Shua, and 20% Jungkookie and his hyungs - Mingyu DOES NOT APPEAR FOR SOME TIME I AM SORRY LMAOOOO it's just how it worked out but I promise he is coming, and they will meet up with Jungkook. Jungkookie appears in the prologue but after that he's absent for some time. It will make sense when you see how the plot line works.

This isn't omegaverse - however people can form packs if they find the members who are supposed to be part of their pack. It's highly instinctual behaviour, and it's also instinct who is the pack alpha. Alpha types are exceedingly rare, the pack is built around them and you cannot have a pack without them. So normally there will not be more than one alpha type in a pack as you can only have one leader (it's not impossible though.) Once the bond is formed a mark will appear on each pack member's skin to mark their place in the pack and their connection to the other members.

Soul bonds are different to pack bonds - they are always romantic, and can bond two to five people together, depending on the bond. The only way for the bond to form is for all members of the bond to be in contact at the same time. Before the bond is formed, you might be able to sense a connection with one of your soulmates, but it's difficult to know if what you are feeling is a connection or just attraction until the bond is actually formed. Once it is formed your soul marks will appear on your skin - these are different to pack marks.

The plot will follow BTS a little where it concerns Jungkook but otherwise it will mainly follow Seventeen. (If you're just here for BTS this one probably isn't for you - I have a bunch of completed BTS fics you can check out if you want tho :)

I will attempt to do weekly updates at least. Probably on weekends.
