I Was Always There

I was always there for you
When nobody looked you in the eye
And when your mirror told you lies
When your mom died
And every night you ever cried
I was there, can't you remember?
It was a dark night,
Sometime in December
When everyone was asleep
I noticed your pain
As you cut too deep
But you'd never tell them the truth
They would think you're mad
And carry you to some institute
We'd never be together at night
I won't be there anymore
To hold you and tell you to fight
Fight the pain and the tears
It won't last to see future years
Because you'd be dead
That's what you get for listening to the voices in your head
Don't, ignore them if you can!
I am here for you in the palm of your hand
Ready to let the red water flow
I promise to keep your secret, nobody will ever know
Close your eyes and cover your ears
When nobody had your back
I was always there
