"What do you usually play?"
"I don't play often because I suck at games. It's mostly my dad sneaking to play it at night. Uncle Taehyun gets angry at him because he's late to work the day after."
"You literally have all the time in the world to learn..."
"But I would get bored, I'd rather play piano or paint or something. I have quite a few books to finish as well."
"Sorry Da Vinci. Not me suggesting such lowly, simple pleasures."
"It's only because I don't know how to," Junya added quickly trying to justify himself to Raphael. He didn't want the other to think he's stuck up. "If I knew I'm sure I'd play all the time too!"
"You want to learn? You have some cool games here."
"Yes," Junya replied almost immediately.
His dad tried so many times to teach him but Junya was hopeless. In many ways he got his clumsiness and lack of hand to eye coordination from his mother.
...
"Junya, you suck so freaking bad. I've never met anyone who sucks this bad at every game."
At first, Raphael thought Junya wasn't good at shooting games like Call of Duty.
But then he wasn't good at Spider-Man or GTA.
Or even Little Nightmares... or Yakuza.
Anything sports related and he could not understand what the controls were.
Raphael thought if he dumbed it down all the way to Naruto, Junya would instinctively spam the same button but, he was getting whopped by Tenten.
"... you said would teach me," Junya faltered a bit. He was trying so hard but, he just didn't understand games. He felt like Raphael was getting tired of him-
"Come here," Raphael sighed patting the small space on the couch between his legs.
"W-why?"
"So I can teach you," Raphael deadpanned. "Come on, I am your tutor after all."
Junya moved slowly to sit in that space despite his blush. Thankfully from this position, Raphael wouldn't be able to see. He could smell the faint wood and vanilla scent coming from Raphael.
Very alluring.
Raphael's hands slipped underneath Junya's arm grabbing the controller. Raphael didn't notice that him and Junya barely had a millilitre of space - he was too focused on his task.
Which was teaching Junya to play. Junya on the other hand, could barely focus. He just felt like a ball of nerves.
"Don't let up - I know you don't know this but, losing to Tenten is unacceptable. I'll even accept you spamming ultimates right now."
"Huh?"
"Were you listening," Raphael asked pretty unaware of Junya's small crisis. "I literally gave you the roadmap to success. You were looking at the buttons I was pressing, right?"
"Y-yeah," Junya nodded quickly taking the controller. In actuality he was just daydreaming about how his legs looked in between Raphael's the whole time.
"You can do it Junya," Raphael encouraged with a smile leaning forward a bit resting his head on the others' shoulder. "I'll guide you this time."
Once the game started Junya was just too overwhelmed pressing every single button. Raphael laughed a bit holding Junya's hand over the controller.
"It's only a game, relax," he teased. "Just spam X."
As Junya folllwed Raphael's voice it was easier to forget that he was behind him and actually focus on the game. Because Raphael's voice was smooth and easy to follow. He was practically guiding his fingers. So much so that in no time, the winning sequence started playing.
"I won," Junya jumped up in disbelief. "Did-did I win?"
"You did - well done gang," Raphael beamed stretching a closed fist out.
Junya replied the gesture smiling so widely he thought his face would split. He had never, ever won at a game before. He didn't know it could feel like this.
Raphael instead finally focused on how beautiful Junya's smile was.
