Chapter 3

CHAPTER THREE: The Mission

Joong POV

Phuwin Tangsakyuen, huh?

< Flashback > 

''Joong, there's something I want you to do but you must keep this secret even from your subordinates,''

I frowned, ''Keep it secret from subordinates? Is it a classified mission, Sir?'' I ask

How classified is it that a high-ranking officer like Superintendent Tay Vihokratana asked me personally and prevented me from telling my subordinates?

Superintendent Tay gave me a file, and I immediately read it; it was a person's profile. Hm? Isn't this the Ace of Crime Department, Phuwin Tangsakyuen?

I frowned as I read the files.

It's written that His real name was Phuwintang Vihokratana, his son.

I looked at Superintendent Tay confused, ''Sir, this is your Son's files,'' I said

Superintendent Tay sighed, ''Yes, he used his grandmother's midden name to enter the Police Force,'' he said

''Then why...''

''My subordinate informed me about my Son's request to be transferred to your Department...''

Oh?

''My son is a talented boy but he can be very stubborn and a little bit reckless, honestly, I don't agree that he became a police officer but I understand why he did it,'' 

I frowned, ''And that is?'' I asks

''To find his twin brother,''

Twins?

''You know about the kidnapped case 15 years ago, right?''

''Yes, my father is also one of the officers in charge of that case,'' I respond, ''Wait, the one who got kidnapped is...''

''Yes, both my twin's sons, Phuwin and Gemini,'' he answered, ''Phuwin believes that his twins are still alive and I know he's been collecting many clues regarding Gemini's whereabouts, as you read from his files, Phuwin possess a rare ability, photographic memories and he also can disguise to anything he want to obtains anything without failures,'' 

Hold on, did he say that his other son's name is Gemini? Why does that name sound familiar? Where did I hear that name before?

Oh well, to be honest, I was about to recruit him after hearing the rumours about his skills and ability. I didn't expect that the person in question was requesting to be transferred to my department himself, not to mention that he was also the son of high-ranking officers. This saves a lot of time for me.  

''So, you want me to accept him to my team, Sir?''

''That depends on your judgments,'' 

''Before I decide, can I ask about something?'' I ask

''Go ahead,'' 

''You said that your Son became a police officer to find his missing twins, you mean he was searching for a clue regarding the case 15 years ago?''

Superintendent Tay nodded, ''And you did understand how dangerous that case was 15 years ago,''

''Yes,'' of course, I know how dangerous it is. That case not only cost me my father but also Santa's Parents were killed that same day. 

''So you say that your son has some clue regarding the one behind that case?'' I said

''I'm not so sure, Phuwin is good at keeping that clue under his wings. Even I, couldn't obtain that information,'' he said sighed 

Now, he made me interested in how good Phuwin is. 

''Understand, Sir,'' I said and decided that I would accept him into my team, ''I will put him under my wings,''

I see Superintendent Tay smile in relief; I bet he is always worried. He may not be showing it but I can see he cares about his son. 

''Don't worry, Sir, I will keep an eye on him,'' I said 

''I'm counting on you, Joong, and please don't let Phuwin be suspicious about this mission I give to you as his bodyguard,'' he said

I just smile

I saluted him but before I walked out from his office, Superintendent Tay said something that sent chills into my body. 

''Joong, Phuwin holds the clue of the identity that killed your father and probably the same person who is also responsible for Santa's Parents' death.'' 

I looked at Superintendent Tay in surprise, ''What?''

''Phuwin probably didn't realize that he held such a trivia clue,'' he continued, ''That clue linked to the biggest chain of Thailand Underworld Mafia syndicates,''

''I entrusted Phuwin's safety with you, Joong,''

< End of Flashback >

I look at Phuwin's direction; he holds such important information, yet he didn't report it to a higher-up. Why is he keeping it by himself? If his kidnapped case, the death of my fathers and Santa's parents are linked to the biggest mafia syndicates in Thailand along with their underground operation, this case will become more complicated and dangerous. 

If he keeps it by himself, it means that there's a spy within the police force. I need him to share that information with me but I have to do it carefully since I can sense that he's an observant and cautious person. 

''I need to find a way...''

''...a...Hia!''

I look up and see Santa standing in front of my desk, ''I told you to call me Captain or Sir when we were at work-''

''Put that aside Hia,'' Santa cut me, he sounded serious, ''I finally found him, Hia!'' he shouted

I immediately stood up, ''You sure about that?'' I asked for confirmation and Santa nodded

''ATTENTION, WE GOT A CASE!'' I commanded.

Finally, one step closer! I finally found him!

The story is getting interesting and this is not yet about the Mafia side, but it'll come. Eventually. 🤭
