Audri Carpenter was 18 years of age, she lived with her mother and father in her small neighbourhood. Everyone knew everyone, it was nice, the feeling of unity in the community. Every night Audri would hop into her car and go for a drive, not to go anywhere in particular but rather to clear her head and calm herself. This night was nothing different: she got into her car and went for a drive. The soft hum of the engine and stillness of the night soothed her like it always did.

Once she had pulled back into the driveway, she climbed up to her bedroom window and attempted to open it for her parents were unaware of her midnight drives, but it was locked. That was the peculiar thing because she didn't lock it, on top of that the only way to lock it was from the inside. Okay, that's odd, she thought to herself. So, risking exposure, Audri entered through the front door. As she trodden lightly on the carpet floor to her bedroom, she froze in the doorway as she noticed that someone was in her bed, sleeping. Panicked, she ran to her parents bedroom pounding on the door. As it swung open she began screaming at them, telling them that there was someone sleeping in her bed. Asking them to dial 911 and get this imposter out of their house. After a few strange moments of silence, they began yelling at her, telling her to get out of their house and never come back otherwise they'll call the police.

Panicked and confused, she obliged and ran outside, got into her car and sped to the police station. If anyone could help her it would be the police. She set her car in park and ran through the doors, an officer who almost instantly noticed her panicked state came to help right away. As the events of tonight tumbled out of Audri's mouth, the officer's expression changed.

"Alright, who set you up for this? This another prank from your friends? Quit it, it's getting annoying." As he was about to turn his back to her and walk off, Audri spoke.

"What!? No, this isn't a prank, I'm telling the truth!" She said, grabbing his shoulder, he shrugged her off.

"Truth you say, fine, tell me your name." He said sternly.

"My name, okay," she swallowed and steadied herself, "Audri Carpenter." She answered confidently, earning a chuckle from the officer.

"Okay, now I know this is a prank. 'Audri Carpenter' doesn't exist." He turned on the heel of his foot and walked off.

Audri's world was spinning, what did he mean? She had to exist, she never had an identity crisis, and she had talked to that same officer before. She was a mere little girl when it happened, she grazed her leg and he helped her, she gave him her name but he didn't. He said it was confidential, so she would be safe. Ever since the two have been greeting and sharing smiles when passing each other, how could he forget her, yet alone say she didn't exist.

It was as if her world had shattered, the shards slipping through her fingers as she lost her grip on reality.

As she waltzed out of the station, dazed, she lifted her head to see someone leaning against her car. Just as she did, they spoke.

"I thought I was going crazy," it was a male, he sounded as if he was 19, "but now that I've seen someone else go through the exact same thing, I know I'm not." Audri sank to the floor sitting on the curb, relieved that she wasn't losing her mind yet sad another soul had experienced this horrible sensation. As Audri got lost in her thoughts about tonight, he approached her, crouching down to make sure he got her attention. Audri's head snapped up, eyes locking with his.

"So, what are we gonna do? Are you gonna sit here and sulk, or find out whatever the hell happened to us?"
