Chapter 23 | Camp Night 1

Start from the beginning

Todoroki's POV:

I was sitting in the hot spring, dipping my legs into the water. It felt nice... warm even. It wasn't the same though. It's a completely different warm from when I'm around her.

Maybe I should see a doctor...?

I'm pulled from my thoughts by Iida's shouting, "Stop this behavior at once Mineta! Think about the shame that you'll not only be bringing yourself, but also your female classmates!"

This perv... what's he going on about now. I swear if he says anything disgusting about (L/n) I'll kill him. Just when I thought the situation was handled, the punk started scaling the wall using his sticky little fingers to grab at the balls he was placing on the wooden planks. I got up immediately, going to stop him as he quickly got higher.

"We are here to overcome these walls! To go beyond, plus ULTRAAAA!!!" Mineta shouted. Just as I was about to freeze him where he stood, that kid who punched Midoriya appeared over the top of the wall.

"Before trying to become some wannabe hero, try becoming a good person first..." he said as he shoved Mineta down and off the wall, causing him to land on Iida.

From the other side of the wall I could hear the girls praising the young boy. Calling him their savior and shaming Mineta for his attempted actions.

"Thanks brave Kota- Ko!" I heard (L/n) shout. Her voice as soft and beautiful as ever. Just after her words the boy started to fall back and over to our side of the wall. Luckily Midoriya caught him in time and eventually rushed him to see Mandalay.

His face was all red and there was a bit of blood coming from his nose... was it a heat stroke from the spring?

2nd Person POV

"Thanks brave Kota-Ko!" You shouted and waved at the boy when he suddenly disappeared behind the wall.

You and the girls all giggled at the moment and continued your conversation, "man am I pooped..." you let out a sigh as you sank into the water just under your nose.

"Mhm, and Mr Aizawa said it's only gonna get more difficult from here." Momo added

"Yeah who knows what that guys got tucked under his scarf! Maybe they'll throw everybody into the woods again and tell us good luck..." Mina pouted and rested her face in her hand, "all I know is that I'm stuck inside doing whatever hellish lessons Aizawa has planned for us afterwards" She whined

"Whatever the case it's best we get to bed soon, a 5:30 start isn't really ideal but it's what we've got. Ribbit" Tsu said, prompting all of you to get up and ready for bed.

Before going to sleep you stepped outside the front of the lodge. You sat on the ground while looking up and admired the stars as they danced, it had been a while since you've seen the night sky like this. It was quiet and peaceful, allowing you to get lost in thought for a few minutes.

"(L/n)? Why are you still awake?" You heard a voice from behind you, turning around to see none other than Todoroki.

"Oh hey Roki, just wanted to see the stars." You said turning back to face the night.

"Hmm... do you often admire them?" The boy asked.

"Not nearly as much as I used to... it's a little hard to see them shine where I live" you answered with a fond smile, "I used to go camping a lot with my family when I was younger... we would draw the constellations in the sky."

"That sounds really nice, mind if I join you? I never got to do anything like this with my family, I was actually pretty secluded from my siblings and-" he cut himself off after realizing what he was talking about, "Never mind, it's not important" he sighed

"Of course you can join Roki, and if it's something that holds memories than it's important. Important to me at least," you said, turning right to look at the boy.

He continued to stare up at the sky, it was clear that a lot of thoughts were going on inside his head, "You probably know this already but... My father is Endeavor. He isn't all that great and quite frankly, I've always disliked him." He said, "He drove my mother to scar my face, she couldn't look at me without seeing him... and she hated it"

You sat with your knees to your chest, looking at the boy beside you and trying to read his expression. It was a mix of blunt resentment and a little bit of pain, a look barely visible to anyone who had just met the dual eyed boy. You were quiet, letting him continue,

"He trained me into the ground since the day I developed my quirk, even pushing me until I got sick and couldn't move. After enrolling at UA I wanted to prove that I didn't need him or his quirk to become a hero. He tore our family apart so I wanted to tear his dreams apart," He looked down in anger, "But then I got to UA... I met people who saw me for me and not just my quirk. Midoriya pushed me away from making a bitter mistake, and you have always here to support me. So thank you." He concluded with a gentle but genuine smile.

He made eye contact with you, causing you to blush at his final words. I helped him? You sat there for a few moments, finding the right things to say. Just before you had the chance to speak, Todoroki began,

"It's getting late we should probably get to bed, it'll be a rough day tomorrow." He said as he stood up from the ground extending a hand to help you up.

You simply nodded and accepted his hand, walking side by side to the sleeping areas.

He walked you back to the girls sleeping quarters. You said your good nights and both turned to your designated rooms. Before you lost the courage, you sharply turned around and hugged the dual hair-colored boy from behind. He was caught off guard and tensed up in your arms,

"Thank you for trusting me Todoroki... if it means anything, I'd gladly support you wherever you need it." You sighed lightly into his warm back

Slowly realizing what was happening, he placed his left hand over your arms and looked down at them.

"Thank you for listening (L/n)." He said with a small but emotional smile.

You finally let go of the boy and apologized for the sudden action, saying goodnight and entering the room behind you with a cute wave.
