Halle sat in the reserved studio alone harmonizing while writing a new song in her notebook. "ehh, i don't like that." she mumbled to herself, scratching out one word and replacing it with another that fit best.
She continued the same pattern for the next hour and a half, not realizing her studio time was almost up. She placed her earbuds back into her ear and resumed the beat, letting the words flow from her mind to her fingers and in the composition notebook.
Key knocked on the studio door once again not getting a response back, he shrugs and push open the heavy door. He lazily looked around the room before noticing Halle deep in thought.
He leaned against the sound board, staring at her. He leaned over to get her attention and she jumped out of shock. "oh my gosh, you scared the shit out of me. why are you in my session?" Her soft voice spoke while taking her earbuds out and pausing the music.
"Your session was up 20 minutes away, I've been knocking on the door that long. I double checked if this was the right room they told me to go to." Key spoke with no emotion.
"Well, my apologies...i should let you get to work." She hummed, standing to her feet.
She collected her books, phone and shoulder bag before walking toward the door only to stop in her tracks.
Halle turned back to him but his back was turned to her messing around with the sound controls. She stuffs her bottom lip into her mouth walking over to him, she sat down beside him and examined his face.
"you look very familiar." she spoke gaining his full attention.
"word? i would remember a pretty ass face like yours. Are you in the music industry?"
"Me and my sister, yes." she says with confidence.
"do you sing? i kinda heard you harmonizing when i walked in. you sound pretty damn incredible." Key compliments with a small chuckle.
"Oh..you heard that? That was nothing.." she stutters, weakly smiling while looking down at her nails.
"let me guess you still get nervous singing in front of people? Trust me, i get it. You're talking to a guy who vomited up his lunch my first time performing." Key say back in the chair, chuckling and reminiscing about his first major performance in from of his label.
