Part 1 - Chapter 12

Start from the beginning

"Nothing, just...I dunno, makes ya look hotter." Keefe grinned at Tam.
Tam's face turned red and he huffed, looking away from Keefe. "Maybe I don't love you."
Keefe frowned. "That's just cruel, Tammy."
Tam rolled his eyes. "You know I don't mean it."

Keefe tugged at Tam's hair again. "How long are you going to let it grow out?"
Tam blinked. "Uh- I'm not sure... Maybe I'll just let it grow out and see what happens from there."
"Mhm?" Keefe hummed, looking at Tam's hair then back at his face. Keefe tried to imagine what Tam would look like with long hair.

"What? Why are you staring so intensely at me?" Tam asked, smiling at Keefe.
Keefe smiled back and he shrugged. "Can I not admire you? And think about how hot you would look with long hair?"
"You need to quit calling me hot, Sencen." Tam shook his head slightly.
"Uh, never! You are a hot guy and-!" Keefe began.

Tam leaned in and he cut Keefe off by smashing their lips together for a kiss. Keefe melted into the kiss, tugging at Tam's hair and Tam brought his hand to Keefe's chest, fiddling with the flannel shirt collar. The kiss only lasted a few seconds before they both pulled away slightly. They met each other's gaze and Keefe smiled at Tam.

"I love how you shut me up by kissing me." Keefe whispered softly, staring into Tam's pale blue eyes.
"It's the most effective way of shutting you up, plus I get a kiss out of it." Tam shrugged, smiling at Keefe.
Keefe closed the gap between them, capturing Tam's lips into another kiss but it was shorter than their kiss the moment before.

"Alright, c'mon, the sun is gonna start to rise and I wanna watch it." Keefe said, pulling away.
"You don't wanna make out with me a bit more?" Tam tilted his head, frowning slightly before grinning.
Keefe rolled his eyes. "I have all the time in the world to make out with you."
Tam let out a sigh of content as he rested his head on Keefe's shoulder again and looked out at the horizon, seeing that the sky was beginning to turn multiple shades of orange and red and the sun was beginning to rise. Keefe wrapped his arm around Tam's shoulder and rested his head against Tam's, just watching how beautiful the sky looked as the sun was rising.

The sun began to glow a burning orange, as it rose over the horizon and Tam sucked in a breath as the sky began to glow a dusty pink, slowly fading into a pale blue.

Tam felt at peace. It's been a while since he's felt so...calm and comfortable. Keefe could feel that Tam was radiating some positive emotions and Keefe was glad that Tam was feeling that way. They've been stressed practically their whole lives and now they don't have to worry much about having to hide that they were spies or having to lie to everyone. They could be themselves and live happily here.

Keefe lifted his head and he looked down at Tam. Tam felt Keefe's gaze and he lifted his head from Keefe's shoulder, turning his head to face Keefe.
"Are you gonna-?" Tam began.
"Hey, hey, no spoilers." Keefe grinned as he leaned in, pressing his forehead against Tam's.
Tam let out a soft laugh and he looked into Keefe's eyes. Keefe swallowed and he took in every feature of Tam's face, just adoring how he looked.

"Tam Song, will you-?" Keefe began.
Tam flinched and pulled away as something began to ring and vibrate against his pocket. Keefe cleared his throat and Tam smiled sheepishly at Keefe.
"Ah, sorry, sorry!" Tam exclaimed, taking out the phone that Azalea and Ruki gave him a week or so ago.
"Can you not put that on silent, or...?" Keefe questioned.
"Look, I'm sorry-" Tam began, glancing down at the screen.

Tam blinked as he saw a lot of messages from Azalea and Ruki, as well as that call that he had missed.
"Uhm, just give me a second." Tam said, getting up and causing Keefe to take his arm away from his shoulder.
"Okay?" Keefe furrowed his eyebrows, watching Tam carefully.

Tam tapped some things on his phone and he managed to call Azalea back. The phone began to ring and Tam brought it to his ear. A moment passed and the ringing stopped.
"Hello?" Tam said, starting to pace around a little.
"Tam! Hi, hello! So, we kinda need to urgently see you right now? We didn't wake you up, did we?" Azalea asked.
"I- No, you didn't wake me up, but...what- why do you need to see me right now?" Tam questioned. "I mean, can't this wait-?"

"Couldn't you have waited to get back to them later?" Keefe grumbled, crossing his arms as he looked away from Tam.
Tam raised his eyebrows and he glanced over at Keefe, hearing what he said. Tam decided to not dwell on that now.

"Tam, please." Tam heard Ruki speak now. "We really need to talk to you about something. It's really, really important!"
Tam sighed and he groaned.
"Ugh, fine. I'll start heading over to...where do you want me to meet you guys?" Tam asked.
"We'll message you the location!" Azalea exclaimed.
"See you soon!" Ruki exclaimed.
Tam heard the disconnecting noise and he sighed as he brought his phone away from his ear and he turned around to face Keefe.

"Keefe-" Tam began.
"Why do they want to see you?" Keefe questioned, looking at Tam.
Tam hated how Keefe was looking at him at this moment.
"I-I'm not fully sure, they're saying it's urgent though." Tam said quietly, not meeting Keefe's gaze as he didn't want to see that look on Keefe's face any longer.

"Tam, this date was supposed to-" Keefe began to scowl.
"Keefe, please, I don't want to fight." Tam frowned, looking at the Empath.
Keefe's gaze softened when Tam frowned and he sighed. Keefe ran his fingers through his hair.
"... Alright, fine. Go. I'll- I'll head home. Just, come back home as soon as you're done, okay?" Keefe questioned, looking up at Tam.
Tam nodded.

Keefe got up from where he sat and he went over to Tam. Keefe placed a kiss on Tam's cheek and Tam felt a slight shiver down his spine. Keefe and Tam both looked into each other's eyes. Keefe smiled slightly at Tam.
"Be safe." Keefe whispered.
"I'm always safe." Tam whispered back, smiling a little at Keefe.
"Mmh... I'll see you later." Keefe said, backing away.
"Yeah, bye." Tam nodded.

And like that, Tam turned away and he instantly rushed off to where he was supposed to go. Keefe frowned as he turned around and began to pack away the blanket he laid out for the two of them.

Keefe didn't feel any better about Azalea and Ruki. I mean, they ruined Keefe's super romantic date! And they interrupted him when he was going to ask Tam out!!

What the hell did they even want with Tam anyway? And if it was urgent, shouldn't Keefe also have been told to go...?
