Chase jumped out of the couch, alarmed with how abruptly Anti woke up.
Anti was panting and his body was snapping in and out of corporeal reality.
"Geez! What the hell, man!?" Chase shouted, "Calm down! It was just a nightmare!"
Anti stared at Chase, wondering if he was even real or not after what he experienced.
"A. . . a nightmare?"
Chase sighed, picking himself back up, " . . Yeah. . .. just a bad dream. It wasn't real. . . whatever it was you dreamt of"
"But. . . . it felt real"
"Yeah, sometimes they do, bud" Chase grunted and wandered into the kitchen, "I'm gonna make me a cup of coffee. Ya want one?"
That perked Anti back up, "Yes"
While Chase was in the kitchen, Anti thought back to his dream.
Something wasn't right.
No, something was making sense.
He was remembering something. Why else would it feel so important?
When Chase returned, he had two cups of coffee in his hands and handed Anti the one with all the sugar and cream in it just how he liked it.
Anti took it absent-mindedly and sipped at it.
Chase raised a brow at him, "What was the dream about?"
"I don't think it was just a dream . . . it felt more like a memory"
"Huh. . .okay." Chas sat next to him, "What did you remember?"
"There was a crystal in a forest. It pulsed. I saw Dark's face. I went through some kind of wormhole and everything hurt"
Chase nodded, "Huh . . got it. That's kind of messed up. So you knew Dark before this whole thing, huh? Before you got out of that building?"
"I think so . . . he spoke as if we knew each other somewhat before then, too. I think . . . "
Anti's head was starting to hurt, "I think the crystal is the key. I think I have to find it"
"How you gonna do that?" Chase sipped at his own coffee, "Do you know where to start looking?"
Anti shook his head.
"Then don't worry about it, I guess" he shrugged.
Anti stared at him, "What?"
"What? I'm just saying." Chase chuckled a little, "Odds are you might never find it if you don't even remember where to start. Maybe the answer will come to you eventually later on"
"We don't have until 'later on', Chase" Anti argued, "Dark sounded as if whatever he was doing wouldn't take long. . . . Perhaps I should find the wizard. He might be able to-"
"Yeah, how about not?" Chase stopped him, "Those guys are total dicks that kept the both of us locked up there in that fucking building. Fuck them, if they're even still alive. No, we can figure this out on our own if you really want to."
"They were only trying to protect you, Chase." Anti went on, "They didn't know what I wanted at the time or how you were involved. I know for a fact that Jackie didn't want you to be held like a prisoner. He fought for you to be freed"
"Whatever" Chase didn't agree with it, "Doesn't matter. We don't need them! . . . you said you saw the crystal in a forest? There's one nearby I've been to before. Maybe-"
