"Guys, check it out!" Wendy calls, "'Think they still work?" she asks, reaching for a panel of light switches on the wall in the back. She flicks all three, and the lights flicker on, the CCTV light blinks, the slushy machine's decoration spins, and everyone cheers and chuckles and laughs and exclaims in joy and whatnot as the Dawn-2-Dusk comes to life.
"sooo, what are we gonna do now?" Dipper asks, turning to Wendy
"Whatever we want" she replies matter-of-factly. Dipper and Mabel look at each other, starry-eyed
[one tomfuckery montage and pov change later]
"Yo, Thompson, the shit's ready-!" Grey calls.
"Whatever it is, I'll do it!" Thompson cries, almost cutting Grey off.
Sitting atop a convenience store shelf long forgotten, Wendy chuckles before calling, "Thompsonn-!" Turning to her left, she congratulates her partner-in-crime.
"Dipper, this night is like, legendary," she praises, pointing at him with her definitely extremely expired Neapolitan ice cream pop.
"Really?" Dipper asks, disbelief dusting the tone of his voice.
"Just look around!" she says, motioning her arms to the store, "The guys are bonding..." Thompson is on his hands and knees, Lee pulling his pants back enough for Grey and Robbie to pour bags of ice down his pants, all laughing as they do so.
"I've never even seen Tambry look up from her phone this long..." Tambry glances up from her phone, resuming texting or whatever she was typing at shortly after, as she sits on the floor, resting against the cabinet table thing supporting the Pitt Cola slushy machine.
"...and your sister seems to be goin' nuts for that smile dip," Wendy points out, both looking to Mabel sitting against the yellow Smile-Dip shelves, stomach gurgling, covered in the pink powder.
"oouughh.... maybe I've had too much," she speculates, "what do you think?" she asks, turning to her right at the giant golden dog, sitting on the shore of a rainbow lake.
"...elknurg ...tsurtsid ...tsum," it says (I think), smile plastered onto its face, eyes staring lifelessly off into either the void or the paw-shaped lollipop trees growing out of the tongue dirt, upbeat background music playing all the while.
Another, bigger, giant golden dog with a purple bow tied around its neck runs up, holding its paw in front of Mabel.
"Would you like to eat my candy paw?" it asks.
"of course, you little angel~," she says, reaching up to the paw, drawing her hands back to her mouth, chewing on nothing as her extremely dilated pupils stare off into oblivion, freezers humming loudly in the background.
"Y'know, Dipper," Wendy turns her body to him again, rubbing the inside of her elbow, "I wasn't sure if you could hang with our crew at first, but-" she turns to face him, demeanour lightening, "you're surprisingly mature for your age!" she compliments, pointing her ice-cream/inedible dairy sludge at him.
"Yes. Yes, I am." he agrees, trying to lick his ice cream pop, misses, and hits the side of his face three times, all the while maintaining serious eye contact.
"Hey, guys, we need more ice!" Nate calls, as Dipper and Wendy look over to see Lee still holding Thompson's pants back, as Nate empties out the last bag of ice and Grey tries shoving the ice down Thompson's pants/asscrack.
"I'm on it!" Dipper volunteers eagerly, throwing his ice cream behind him as he jumps off the shelf.
"I'll come, too, I guess," Grey suggests, walking after Dipper. He confidently opens the freezer, reaching for a bag of ice. Grey reaches for a bag too, but suddenly leans over, hand on one knee and their finger held up, as a way of asking whoever's there to wait as they cough. As they're so conveniently not looking, Dipper looks up to see an incomplete human nervous system with a mouth floating above the ice, its eyes rolling forward, nerves extending to get as close as possible. Dipper, whose shit was just scared out, accidentally throws the bag of ice, spilling it on the floor as he scrambles to close the door.
