Sitting alone at his desk, Gideon stares at a dusty red journal.

"I need a way to destroy the Pines, but how?" he wonders aloud, flipping pages without reading them, only looking for things that would catch his eye, until he lands upon a page towards the back titled "TBD: To Be Discovered" listing various names of cryptids and other things and brief descriptions. Some, like "Squash with human face and emotions" have been crossed off, presumably discovered.

Only a few names were left, but most of them were irrelevant to Gideon, Slander Man, for example. One, however, caught his eye. "Weary".

"In my studies, I have encountered many a rumor. One of which was of 'Weary,' a plant that, when used correctly, can be used as a powerful sedative. Unfortunately, I have never been able to find it as of writing this," Gideon read aloud to himself, "If only I could track this down..." he glanced to his right at an object on his desk- a crochet lamb that Grey made for him.

Gideon sighed frustratedly. He hated asking for help... but there was no way around it.

*Knock knock knock*

"Knock knock," Grey said, sitting crisscross-applesauce (yes, I'm older than 8) in their chair, not looking up while embroidering another flannel in their lap with light blue friendship thread.

Gideon opened the door, "Um, Greyso- ah Grey,"

"There we go"

"Grey, I wanna show you something, could you come 'ere for a sec?" He asked, embarrassed a little.

"No problem, P, what's up?" Grey replied, looking up, and setting their stuff on the desk before standing.

Grey follows Gideon to his dimly lit bedroom, as he walks to his desk.

"Grey, ah..." He starts somewhat nervously, before collecting himself, and firmly stating, "Grey, I need your help."

'Oh my God oh my God oh my God! Gideon actually wants my help?!'

"...Grey," Gideon asks as they overthink a simple yes or no question.

"Yeah! What do you need?" They respond excitedly

"Greyson Ponderosa Chirpe, I need you to promise you won't tell anyone what I'm about to tell you," Gideon said, seriously.

"Did you say my full legal name for dramatic effect? Or because it sounds cool." Grey asks.

"A little bit of both," Gideon answered casually, gesturing in the air, "now promise me you'll keep this a secret!"

Grey nods their head, "promise."

Gideon looked Grey firmly in the eye, and held up his pinky finger. Grey grabbed his with theirs, and sh̴ook on i̴t.

"Grey, there are things in Gravity Falls you could never even begin to imagine," he begins, "mysteries, monsters, magic and myths, all in this very town," He explains dramatically.

"One of those mysteries... is this!" He says, holding Journal 2 in front of Grey. Their eyes widen in awe. "hey, that's like-" they bite their tongue. If Gideon needed an extravagant speech and a pinky swear, Dipper probably wouldn't want anyone telling. "-p pretty old... what is it?"

"This is Journal Number Two," he answered, "Long ago, a mysterious author wrote these, documenting all the anomalies he encountered..." he explained, "until one day, he disappeared, leaving a bunch of unanswered pages." He showed Grey the TBD page,
