~10 Part 3~

"Actually do." Cole corrects with a glare.

I slowly creep my hand to the side and grab the crystal, feeling the cool stone against my hand. There's a heavy feeling of dread hanging over me, but I just have to keep reminding myself who I'm doing this for.

"Yeah, you've definitely overstayed your welcome." Kai adds, "don't you agree, Lloyd?"

My brother doesn't answer, he just quickly glances over Moro before looking away. I can see he's trying his best to appear neutral about this, but I know him and I can see how on edge he really is.

Moro ignores the guys and walks to the portal. His eyes dart to me for a split second before I'm tossing him the crystal.

He catches it and opens another gateway before anyone can respond.

"He's got the crystal-"

"Where's that one opening to?"

"Stop him!"

I jump through the opening and don't even have a moment to turn before it's closed again, sealing me away from my family.

(Lloyd's POV)

Everything flashes before my eyes on an endless repeat.

Lindsey tossed the crystal to Moro.

Another portal opens.

The guys go for Moro, but Lindsey jumps through the other gateway.

It closes behind her the second she's through. I reach out and just about catch hold of the back of her sweatshirt, but she slips through my fingers.

Moro goes through the portal to the cursed realm and closes it before anyone can reach him.

The crystal falls limp to the ground as it closes. It may just be me, but I swear the crack has gotten bigger. Probably due to how long those other portals were open for. Or maybe the unknown third portal no one was planning for.

The earthquakes have stopped.

The merge has stopped.

And my sister is gone.

The only thing I can do is continue to state dumbfoundedly at the place the portal my sister went through was minutes before.

I can feel the others staring at me for some kind of explanation. But how am I supposed to know?

I have no idea what was going through my twins head or what her reason could be for... any of this!

My eyes blur with tears. My breath suddenly comes out in painful erratic gasps. I can barely breathe. It feels like something is crushing my windpipes. There's a horrible throbbing sensation in my chest that comes on so quickly, I grasp at it to see what's causing this pain. But there's obviously nothing there.

I quickly turn to face my dad. I can we the others kinda jump at the speed of my movement, but I ignore them.

"Dad, what happened? Where'd she go?" I ask desperately, hoping he has some kind of answer.
