I study it again as something finally comes to me. I extend my hand to where the wall would be if it was actually there. It reaches through midair until it finally comes in contact with another wall. One that I can't see.
The walls are invisible. Every turn is invisible. I walk along the concealed wall and discover a new hedge that extends in a shorter direction, not the endless ones like before.
I walk forward and reach a short turn that leads to another long path. However, before I get stuck heading in a single direction, I feel around in midair until my hand meets another wall.
I continue this strategy for numerous twists and turns. Finally I come through another section and everything comes into view.
It's a maze.
Her mind is set up like a maze.
The first few sections were concealed, but it's all visible now. Every corner and dead end is within view.
"I wonder how she can hide her mind like this. Most people don't have this much control over their minds. Not enough to know when and how to hide memories. She's amazing at hiding what she's thinking and her experiences. What's at the center?"
I move along faster now that everything is in sight. Finally it starts revealing memories like the other people I've possessed do. Every turn leads to a new memory.
There's the weird thick aura everywhere in here. If this was a real place... and if I was still alive, it seems like it would be hard to breathe in here.
The first few memories closer to the beginning have Lindsey, her plan to take over Ninjago with a bunch of robots and golden power. The further into the maze I go, the older they become. These ones include a long period of time when she was spread across Ninjago, waiting for her plan to be set in motion. Even further along and I reach when she was one of the only living things in Ninjago with the First Spinjitzu Master. Even further still until I reach the center of the maze which is full of memories of her origin.
I watch the scenes unfolding themselves until I find what I'm looking for.
"Great, now I gotta get out of here."
Thankfully, stopping possessing someone is easier than possessing them in the first place. I don't have to retrace my steps, I just leave her consciousness.
I reappear in the weird fog standing beside Darkness' form. She slowly turns to stare at me, "find what you were looking for, sweetheart?"
Her voice is weirdly sweet, but condescending. Listening to her for long periods of time is probably annoying.
I glare at her, "none of your business."
She shrugs, "fine, keep your secrets. But I know what you were looking for and I also know that you found it despite my best efforts to keep you out. I gotta say, you're extremely irritating when it comes to matters of the brain, but you broke through my defenses nonetheless." She smiles at me. It slowly creeps across her face, "well, you can tell Lindsey that even with this information, she's going to have a lot of trouble putting me back where I came from and keeping me there."
"Guess she'll cross that bridge when she comes to it." I reply nonchalantly, "my part is done once I give her the info."
