Slate stepped into the shadows near the hospital walls.  He sat hidden, watching the employees filing into the hospital.  He slowly slid the cellular phone into his pocket.

He saw a familiar man walk into the main entrance.  The man looked just like Slate did.  Slate almost laughed to himself, imagining if the man could see him.

What would he think, seeing himself lurking in the bushes.

After Harrison walked into the hospital, Slate waited a few minutes and then stalked around the hospital and entered through a side entrance.

He showed his ID to the security card, who, looking rather bored, just waved him in.

At last.  After months of planning and watching, it’s going to happen.  It all comes down to today.

The picture of confidence, Slate slowly walked down the hallway of the hospital.  He gave a cheery smile to a nurse, causing her to swoon.

Nobody suspects a thing.

He started up a narrow stairwell toward his office.  The scheme was working perfectly.  Now just to tie up a few loose ends.  He surveyed the small but impeccable cubicle.

“Not too shabby.”
