A Turn Of Hearts - 01

Laura, a young woman, who did well with her career, was dragged along with her colleagues to a company meal. She was a beautiful and smart human being but her co-workers were malicious people.

As I mentioned before, Laura was a smart woman but she was very naive as well. She believed other people to fast without thinking about consequences. And this was another case. First they didn't want to invite her but since it was known that the boss was going to be there, they planned on playing a prank on her.

They already saw how she looked at the boss whenever he passed by. The boss on the other hand was a very strict and unapproachable man. They wanted to use Laura, so that eventually she would get fired.

At dinner they urged her to give the boss a drink. They knew that he has a low tolerance of alcohol but still proceeded so that they could work out their plan.

"Here give this to Mr Kim." Alice said while shoving Laura the glass of Soju. Laura, the good girl that she was, listened to her "friends". She held the glass in front of her, looking at it and trying not to spill. At the head of the table was Jin sitting. Scrolling down on his phone. It was like he didn't want to be here. Showing no interest in dinner whatsoever.

He saw someone approaching in the corner of his eye and looked up.

"Here is something to drink, sir. Thank you for being here." Laura said while putting down the glass in front of him. "I'm sorry but Mr. Kim doesn't drink." His assistant who was sitting next to him stopped her. "It's okay, Mr Park. I'll accept this one." Mr. Kim took the glass and gulped it down in one take.

After he took the drink he stood up and went to the bathroom. When he came back his head was already spinning. He sat down and his little glass which was empty before was refilled. He frowned his eyes and took it. "Sir! Stop! You can't handle so much alcohol!." His assistant tried to stop Jin again.

Jin shrugged him away and drank it up. A waiter who was walking around to fill up the empty glasses, saw the glass of Mr. Kim's and went over to him to fill it up again. "No more for him, thank you." His assistant stopped him. But even though he just had 2 shots, Mr Kim's head was dizzy and he couldn't think straight. But he wasn't alone. Laura was having trouble herself. She had a very high alcohol tolerance but her co- workers kept filling up her glass. It must have been her 8th or 9th and she began to feel her head turning.

Finally, they both were drunk and the co-workers decided to begin with their prank. "Laura? Do you want to have some fresh air?" Mila asked her while supporting her. Laura nodded while her eyes were rolling away to the back of her head. She was having trouble standing up due to her wobbly legs. Slowly Mila guided her outside. Now they needed their boss to go out. Alice saw his assistant going to the bathroom and made her move.

"Sir! I just got a call! The board members are waiting for you at the company." Alice said with a serious face."What! Why!" Jin replied with frowning eyes. He didn't waste any time and went to his car that was parked in front of the restaurant. He sat in the back and told the driver to go. But it wasn't Mr. Park but an unknown man. A friend of Alice who helped them with their plan. But then Jin looked next to him and saw Laura sleeping.

"Yah! What are you doing here?" Jin yelled, waking her up. Laura groaned and with a blurry vision she looked at Jin. "Why are you so loud! I'm trying to sleep." Laura said while putting her head back down.

The driver suddenly took a sharp turn to the left making Laura slide towards Jin. Laura was flustered when her hand was resting on his chest. She smiled and began to brush her fingers on his shirt. She thought she was dreaming again when in fact she was just drunk.
