Within every myth lies a kernel of truth. Even the most outlandish tales have an origin.
The strings of fate used to be seen by the naked eye. They wove together, connecting humans in a tapestry of emotion. Some were more famous than others.
Such as the Red strings of love. A scarlett line connected all of those who were destined to be soul mates. One end was tied around each partner at birth, by the gods. Many would spend their lives following the string to meet their other half, the one who would understand them best. A soul mate for all of eternity.
Unfortunately, not all of the connections were joyous. Black cords were used to tie those together with a bond of hatred. Many wars were fought over these connections, wars to find love. Wars to vanquish destined enemies.
After decades of bloodshed, the gods took away the humans abilities to see the strings that tied them together. The made humans blind to others emotions, to save them.
All except for a select few, lost the ability to see the strings of fate....
