Card games turned into gossip, which turned into scandalous questions. The hours ticked by, and it was getting dark out; and the contents of their second wine bottle greatly diminished.
Yunjin was starting to find everything very funny, and Chaewon was starting to long for a million hugs from whoever was closest. Three-glass Purinz meant loud and clingy– which Yunjin always described as a 'power duo', whatever that meant.
"Okay, okay. Biggest celebrity crush?" Minji asked, her gaze travelling across everyone around the table.
"Oh, easy. Ryan Reynolds," Hanni immediately answered, earning a sharp look from the other.
Danielle huffed. "No, that's so basic! What about someone like..."
"Too many people. I'd kiss so many of them," Kazuha dreamily sighed.
Technically Huh Yunjin counts, right?
"What'd you say?" Wonyoung asked, looking down at Chaewon.
The short girl looked up. "What did I– what? Nothing." She mumbled.
Focus on the floor. The floor looks nice.
"Okay, so like, who's on the top of your kiss list then, Kazuha?" Yujin asked.
Wow, this is some nice flooring.
Not as nice as the way Yunjin kisses, though.
"Well I can't just rank them! It depends on the circumstance, you see? Anyway, knock Sakura off the list because she's too easy." The girl grinned at her friend, who pretended to look hurt.
Is it still a list if only one person is on it?
"Either I'm hearing ghosts or you're whispering to the devil, Kim." Wonyoung frowned.
Chaewon felt her heart pause. She really had to stop muttering along to her thoughts.
"I was saying I'm tired. I think I'll just, um... call it a night." The girl lied, forcing a smile.
Despite her looking like a dog who got caught, everyone bought it. This was mainly due to the fact that she stayed up late last night 'working', which in actuality just was a whole lot of self pitying behind her desk.
She hugged her friends goodnight, and waved at Yunjin's friends. She deliberately skipped over Yunjin herself, considering the fact that she'd probably never want to leave the girl's arms if she hugged her.
And then she was back in her boring room, laying on her boring bedsheets.
She scrolled through her phone, the bottom half of her face buried in a hoodie that was much too big for her. This was her favourite lazy outfit: a huge hoodie and tiny shorts, just so she was sure she didn't flash her ass to anyone if she ever had to pick something up off the ground.
She replied to a few WeVerse posts, like she did every few days. Then she got sucked into her TikTok until she lost track of time and jumped ten feet in the air when she heard two knocks on her door.
She threw her phone on her pillow and rolled off the bed, heaving a sigh before opening the door. "Sakura, I know I said you're allowed to borrow my– oh, hi."
Yunjin smiled apologetically. "Sorry, not Kkura," she said as she slipped inside, closing the door behind her.
"Is something wrong? I didn't hear anyone leave yet." Chaewon frowned, straightening her hoodie out.
"Nothing's wrong, I was just... it's late, and you're still awake even though you left an hour and a half ago." Yunjin mumbled, staring down at Chaewon's feet instead of meeting her eyes.
