"Chaewon, you better stop hiding out in that kitchen as well," Yujin mixed into the conversation. She peered over the kitchen counter, her devilish eyes settling on the flushed girl.

Chaewon drew in a deep breath. "Fine. Only if we all mess Huh up," She agreed, bumping into her best friend's shoulder on purpose as she walked past her.

"That's not fair!" Yunjin objected, hurrying after her.

"You suckerpunched me, you deserve it."

"I said sorry!"

"Sorry won't heal me, will it?"

"Whatever, I'll win anyway."

"Maybe if you ever grow a brain."

And so the game was on.

Chaewon refused to lose. She teamed up with Wonyoung to beat Yunjin and Sakura, who were staring them down as they hid behind their cards.

She had a good hand: one that could make her determined best friend very frustrated.

Yunjin, who sat next to the short girl on the floor, kept trying to peek at her cards. She didn't succeed, of course: Chaewon knew her antics long before she tried anything.

She tapped Wonyoung's leg with a grin on her face. The girl placed down a reversal card, after which Chaewon's slapped her plus four on the pile.

Yunjin gave her a sharp look. She took a very long sip of her wine glass before calmly placing down a plus two, smiling at Chaewon the entire time. Kazuha looked at them with a scowl on her face, being the victim of their rivalry.

"Shiro, go look at her cards!" Chaewon ordered her dog, who was content on Sakura's lap. His ears twitched, but he didn't even bother opening his sleepy eyes.

Yunjin chuckled and turned to the short girl, a sly smirk plastered on that annoyingly stunning face. "He's on my side," She hummed.

"My son would never betray me," Chaewon narrowed her eyes at the girl.

The other simply shrugged. They continued trying to mess with each other for three more rounds until Hyein ended up winning. Accepting her defeat, Chaewon simply drank from her glass while giving Yunjin the nastiest look she could muster.

At least, until her eyes grew a mind of her own and wandered down to Yunjin's shiny red lips again, resulting in a very vivid daydream of two nights back.

Her hand on Yunjin's neck, and the girl's hands travelling down, and down between her legs.

Chaewon crossed her legs, trying to stop the tingling sensation. They agreed that it was all a mistake. They agreed to be best friends. Chaewon agreed to never think about it again, but here she was.

"One might think you like me if you keep staring," Yunjin whispered in the short girl's ear– only turning her pinkened cheeks into a deeper shade.

Chaewon scoffed, looking the other way. "Keep those thoughts in those dreams of yours, Huh." She muttered.

"In my dreams they aren't just thoughts." Yunjin grinned.

Chaewon could feel her eyes digging through her skull. But she refused to look back, knowing it would only make things worse for her.

"Shut up," She raised her hand and felt around until it settled on Yunjin's cheek. She pushed the girl's face away, exhaling the breath she'd been holding in.

At times like these she'd tell anyone that she hates her best friend, Huh Yunjin. Truth is, she hates loving Huh Yunjin.

Being this flustered wasn't ideal for their friendship. But being close to Yunjin wasn't ideal for Chaewon to begin with, since all rationality always seemed to leave her body.
