He grunted at my remark.

"Hmm...at least I know when my girlfriend is here or not..." he mumbled.

"Wait, she's here!?"

"Yep."

"Shit!"

I quickly fixed my hair, and packed everything away and scurried past Aatu.

"You still owe me $100" Aatu yelled.

"It was $50 you liar!"

I hurried to my room, quickly got my coat, and ran down the stairs. I should've really been a bit more careful. I caught a glimpse of Rylie, lost my footing and fell down the stairs.

"You're really lucky that you didn't fall on your arm. That would've messed it up pretty badly." Rylie said, pointing at my arm that was casted the day the fight happened.

We were slowly walking around the town, it had stopped snowing for a few days now since spring was approaching. The days were still quite chilly though, and a little bit of snow was left on the ground.

"Yeah, sorry I scared you." I said with a guilty tone.

"At least you didn't hurt yourself."

The walk was a little awkward from the short chats then silence, but it was quite relaxing. It had been a while since Rylie could have gone outside without having to worry, so this was a great chilled experience for her.

"So...uh...I thought i'd like to take you to this place that's quite nice." I said awkwardly.

"Is that why you asked me to bring a bag?" she asked.

"Yeah, we'll chill there for a bit. We'll just relax there, have something to eat and maybe...get to know each better?"

"Sounds like a plan. But, why are we going so late at night?"

"Because I want you to see something that can only be seen at night. That's when its true beauty is shown."

We stopped at an old steel fence with a hole teared in it. I proceeded to the fence and went through.

"What...are you doing?" Rylie asked, a little concerned.

I looked at her, quite unsure of what she meant, then I realized this was a little unusual.

"Oh, right. Well, you have to go through here to get there. Don't worry, I know my way."

"But why is it fenced off in the first place?"

"There used to be an old hotel here and it was fenced off for security reasons. There was a fire, and it was all burned down. They didn't bother taking the fence off though."

She still hesitated. So I offered my hand. She looked at it for a few seconds and decided to take it.

We both continued on, following a wild forest path. The wind was passing slowly through the trees, creating small howls in the wind. After around four minutes walking, we were quite close to the cliff.

"Rylie, could you do me a favour?"

"Yes?"

"I want you to close your eyes."

"...what?"

"I wanna surprise you with something."

"Okay, so we're in a random forest in the middle of the night. It's chilly and we just went through an abandoned area and now you want me to close my eyes? Don't you think that's a tiny bit creepy?" she said, looking at me with a concerned look.
