We decided to continue north and follow our original plan. We knew it would get colder up there, but there was no point in going back. I would've rather froze my ass off then turn back where C.R.A.N.E were most likely wandering about.

It was about four hours since we left the motel and we were already all very dehydrated, hungry and tired. It was definitely not easy to hike in the deep woods covered in snow.

When the long winter started, I didn't think that water would be such an issue. However, I have heard cases of people actually dying from eating the snow to survive. No one understood why it happened, but I knew C.R.A.N.E somehow tampered it.

"Any food, Rouk?" Aatu said in a dull tone.

"Yeah."

"Really!?"

"Of course. You do too."

"What do you mean?"

"Just look at your arm."

He looked at his arm for a few seconds, confused at what I had just said, then his stupid brain finally understood what I meant.

"Haha, very funny." He said sarcastically.

"Did it really take that long to figure it out?"

"Stupid cannibal." He mumbled.

The rest of the group were all behind Aatu and I. Joe was all the way at the back, thinking that it was the safest place.

It's quite funny actually, I had a feeling he didn't trust me at all, even though he expected full responsibility for anything. I didn't know if it was just because he was old or he had major trust issues. Whatever it was, I still hated his guts. Nearly as much as Will's.

I felt fur brush past my arm. I looked down at Jake was staring back at me. By the way he looked, I knew something wasn't right.

He breathed heavily than normal, and was walking slower.

"Can we stop for a sec?" I asked the group.

"Sure, I think we all need a rest." replied Trevor.

"Agreed." said Apollo.

He halted at a fallen down log, which was a decent place to sit at. I inspected Jake to see what was going.

I checked to see if he had any scratches, cut, bruises or anything that can be infected.

Nothing.

I assumed he wouldn't have eaten anything harmful. If he did, he would have puked at some point.

I touched the tip of his nose and quickly knew what was going on.

He was definitely hydrated. His nose was very dry.

He really hasn't had any access to fresh water, not since we left the Haven's home. I had limited access to Jake either from Will or Jake would always run off.

I fiddled through my bag, checking if I had any spare bottles left.

5 out of 6 were empty.

But luckily, there was one left. However, it was a quarter full and there wouldn't be anymore for me.

But I didn't really care. Jake was my buddy and he's never let me down. So why should've I let him down?

I opened the bottle, kneeled down, cupped my hand and used it as like a bowl.

He drank it all in less then five seconds and push me off balance, only to have the opportunity for a slobber attack.

"What the hell, Jake!?" I yelled and laughed at the same time.
