"You've gotta be kidding me. You want us to be in the open!?"Joe said furiously.
"We've got no other choice. The forest ends here and we can't turn back. You know they are coming this way, so going back will only make it easier for them." I expounded.
"It's better having the risk of them catching us than purposefully giving ourselves away to them." Trevor said while putting out the fire that we used to keep ourselves warm for the night.
The whole group agreed to go into the snowfield, except for Joe, who still detested the idea of going into the open.
"You guys are more than foolish, you're crazy." Joe bluntly said.
* * *
We trudged each step on the neverending snowfield. It had been five hours since we left the forest and luckily, we haven't encountered C.R.A.N.E or any danger.
We were all worn-out from the long hours of non-stop walking. We did not take any risks to take a break. We didn't know if someone was onto us, so we didn't want to be an easy target by stopping.
Everyone was quiet during the walk and it felt quite unnatural. There was only sound of our footsteps and the easy howling wind blowing past us.
"Hey. Since we all are quiet and together, we haven't really got to know each other. How about we each say something about ourselves?" Apollo suggested, smiling at the idea.
We all pivoted our heads to him, still walking.
"What? Well, it's better than being quiet. We were given voices to tell stories and inspirational words to others. Why not use it for a change? Isn't that right Roukan?" He said, quite dramatically. Everyone looked at him like he wasn't quite right in the head.
"Yea, I guess." I simply said. "Well, who's going first?"
"I think the one who had this silly idea can start off." Joe mumbled.
"Whatever you say, chum! As most of you know, I'm Apollo Arkwright. Served in the Royal Air Force for quite some time, only child, no family whatsoever, audacious and was knighted." We quickly said, smiling the whole time. Wow, that was a lot of information to take in.
"Woah, woah, woah..." Aatu said. "You...were knighted?"
"Yep, for my work in the air force." He replied. "So that's SIR Apollo to you guys." He chuckled.
"Nah, I'm just teasing." He added.
"Trevor Haven, born and raised in the country and grew up to become a doctor. Then I met my beautiful wife Serena and had two children." Trevor said. "We all lived in a nice cottage for a while. Then found these two fellows." He said, pointing to both Aatu and I.
"I see. Well, why did you decide to go with them?" Apollo asked.
Trevor looked at me and replied, "Because I need to save my son."
"Because WE need to save your son." I corrected. He smiled back with delight.
"Serena Haven, grew up in the country and became a nurse. Nothing much to add on Trevor's story." She said politely.
"Susan Davis, also lived in the country when I was young. I left the U.S and worked in a restaurant in Greece. It later was given to me by the owner. When the winter started, I came back and found my uncle." I could've sworn I heard Aatu drool when she mentioned the word 'restaurant'.
It was Joe's turn to speak up, but his head was down and he didn't say one word.
"C'mon Joseph, just say anything." Apollo said. "We don't know anything about you."
