Part 3: First Mission

We moved from the guns section to the knives. Jupiter picked up a military style combat knife. She handed me one too. "You will be taking this Key, no excuses." I took the knife from her. "Fine," I huffed. " But dont expect me to stab someone,"

She laughed. "You never know,"

It was around 5:30 in the afternoon and the sun was still shining since it was summer. Jupiter and I were riding through the city in her jeep on the way to the hotel. She had her snipe in the suitcase and a gun and knife strapped to her thigh. I had mine strapped to my ankle. It still made me nervous.

I looked over at her, her hair was blowing wildly in the wind and the light hit the strands making it look a light brown. She looked so beautiful and calm, but I quickly pushed the thought out of my head. This was Jupiter after all.

I just sat back and enjoyed the breeze in my face and the fresh air. I can't even remember the last time I rode around with the windows down. It felt so free and non restrictive. It got me thinking that maybe this line of work wouldn't be a bad thing.

"We're here," Jupiter said climbing out of the car. I followed her and grabbed our bags. We had a suitcase and a backpack that had two pre-paid phones, gloves, masks, binoculars, and rope. I was really hoping we wouldn't need the rope.

We entered the hotel and Jupiter and I made our way to the front desk. I stared around the lobby awkwardly while Jupiter talked to the lady behind the desk.

"Thank you for staying with us, Mr. and Mrs. Kim, please enjoy your stay." The lady said as Jupiter grabbed my hand and pulled me away. "Thank you so much." Jupiter said smiling at me. She leaned her head against my shoulder and giggled.

"Mr. and Mrs?!!" I said in a hushed whisper trying not to blow our cover. Kim wasnt even my last name.

"It makes us less suspicious!" Jupiter pouted.
I just sighed and went along. She had been doing this way longer than I had.

We got in the elevator and Jupiter pressed the button. The back of the elevator was clear so we could see the lobby. She still kept her hand in mine. They were soft and cold. "Why are your hands so cold?" I asked her. "Poor circulation," She said rubbing them together. I awkwardly shoved my hands in my pockets after that. The door dinged and she grabbed the suitcases and ran down the hall to our room, with me running after her. "Jupiter slow down!" I yelled. "Go faster," She said back.

I finally caught up to her as she was unlocking the room door. She opened the door and I gawked as I looked at the super nice hotel room. "You guys can afford this?!" I asked, surprised we'd get such a nice room for only a day. "Hell yeah!" She laughed jumping on the bed. "Besides we're stuck here for a few days,"

"What?!"

"We're posing as a married couple, it would be weird if we stayed for one day, or left right after his death."

She had a point. But it was weird to stay in a room with someone you barely knew, and a female, but I didnt really think about Jupiter on that level.

"Well it's 6 and everyone's going to move into their places around 7, so we can just chill until then." Jupiter said. I just nodded. All of this was starting to get to me and I felt the butterflies in my stomach.

"Oooh, look theres a basketball court!" Jupiter squealed. "Do you want to go?!" She said grabbing my arm and pulling me towards the door. "Ahh, okay okay I'm coming," I laughed, her eagerness was hilarious and it also pulled me out of my bad mood.

"Nooo!" I yelled as she shot the winning three pointer. She did a little victory dance and poked me. "Key's a sore loser, Key's a sore loser!" She sang. "Aww whatever, shut up." I laughed. Just then her phone rang and she pulled out a flip phone Kenji made us bring. "Yeah, yeah, ok we'll get into place. I'll call you when we're ready." The butterflies returned to my stomach. "Lets go," She said sounding a bit more serious. I nodded, she grabbed my hand. "Dont be nervous, you're with me silly" She smiled. I smiled back "I'll try,"

We made it to the room and Jupiter went to the bathroom to change. She came out a little bit later in an all black ensemble. Her black hoodie was a bit oversized, but it looked good on her. "Here's yours," She said handing me a similar outfit. I changed and then waited further instruction. She was on the phone again. She handed me some gloves and I slipped them on. Her hair was in a ponytail and she had one of the black masks on. I pulled the other one out of the backpack put it on too. "Bring the backpack," She said. I nodded and put it on my back. The nervousness was seriously setting in now.

"You ready?" She asked patting my arm. "Do I really have a choice?" She laughed. "Don't worry Key, we'll be alright."

She grabbed her phone and typed something in. "Lea is going to turn off the power in ten seconds, we're taking the stairs." I gulped. "Alright," She opened the door and and we walked to the end of the hall. We stood in front of the door that led to the stairs. "5 seconds," She whispered. She grabbed my hand and I held hers tightly. It was silent, she looked at her watch. The lights went out and it was pitch dark. "Let's go,"

The door opened and she pulled me along. I tripped over some stairs but she was patient and waited for me. "Concentrate, " She said. I did what she asked and concentrated on getting up the stairs. The only sound I could hear was our feet pounding up the stairs and the blood pumping in my ears. "Almost there," She said. I heard the sound of a door opening and we were met with the night time sky and city lights. We were up on the rooftop and there was a steady breeze blowing. It was funny how calm the world was when a murder was about to happen. Jupiter grabbed the backpack off my back and started assembling her gun. "Watch the door." She said. I ran over to the door and watched it carefully waiting for someone to jump out. I was ready to grab my knife at any moment. I could hear her talking on the phone with someone. "Key get the binoculars and keep an eye on the target. I grabbed them and looked over at the building. "I could see people having a private dinner and then the target came into view. "I see him,"

Jupiter walked over with the gun sitting set up on the ledge. She took the binoculars from me and looked. "Wow, in the right place too. We'll be using this source again." She gave me back the binoculars and positioned herself on the ground to shoot. "Call Ronin," I grabbed my phone and dialed his number, putting it on speaker. "Hey, are you ready?" He asked. "Yep, give me a countdown." Jupiter said getting ready. Ronin started counting down and I looked over with my binoculars. I could see a red dot clicking on and off on his head. "I'm shooting at 3, lights off at 1," Jupiter said. "10,9,8" My heart was beating out of my chest. "7,6,5" Her finger was ready on the trigger, Ronin reached 3 and his body went down, a woman shot up screaming, then the lights went out. "Did I get him?" I just stood there. "Key, Keeeeyyyyy,"

"Yeah,y-yeah you got it,"

"Ok then, lets go."

She packed up the gun and grabbed my hand. "It'll be okay Key,"

Hey guys, I literally took about a week to write this chapter lol. But I'm glad I've finished it. I'll probably update either once or twice a week so that you guys have consistent content.
