Part 3: First Mission

"Why didn't he just buy me off?"

"Been there done that. It never works. People get greedy or they stab you in the back."
I could see how that could happen, I mean I wouldn't do it. Jupiter already scared me I couldn't imagine how the others were in that type of situation.

I just nodded and kept my eyes forward. I was trapped in this situation. It was life or death for me now.

"Afternoon," Jupiter sounded as we entered a meeting room. It was just a large round table, a projector screen and a laptop in the center. Seems legit.

I grabbed a seat next to Jupiter and looked around. Ronin sat next to me and had his arm around Faye's shoulders. Im guessing they're an item. Lea sat next to Jupiter and Damon sat in front of them. Everyone just had small talk as we waited for Kenji. I guess he was the big boss here. At least by the way Jupiter talks about him.

The door swings open and in walks a slightly older and taller looking Ronin. He looked stern and had an earring, tattoos, and scar on his eyebrow. Basically I wouldn't fuck with him. Jupiter waved at him though and he came around and patted her head before heading to the front of the room.

"Who's that?" I whispered to Jupiter.

"Kenji, dummy, why do you think we were waiting?" It was my turn to give the infamous Jupiter pout.

"Ok team, today we have a commission from a man who wants revenge on politician Gregory Mayes." Kenji brought up a picture of a middle aged guy who had greying hair and glasses. "This is an assassination, so the best plan of action will be to snipe him." He turned towards Jupiter. She gave and ok sign.

"Tonight he will be having dinner at The Grove on the 23rd floor executive level. Jupiter you will be stationed at a hotel a few blocks down. This is where you will do the takedown." Jupiter nodded. She actually looked serious for once. "You'll be taking him with you as an alibi and training mission" he pointed towards me. "M-me?" I questioned. "No, the chair genius. Don't get in the way." I looked down at my lap. I get it, I'm at the bottom of the food chain here. No need to rub it in.

"Faye, I'm going to have you hack into the grove security system and get rid of the footage of the assassination as well as any security footage of Jupiter going to the roof or leaving her room at the time." Faye nodded her head. "Ronin and Lae I'll need you to shut off the power of both buildings. Lae you have the hotel. Ronin you have the restaurant. Turn off the power when Jupiter gives you the ok." Ronin grinned and Lae just kept her usual stone face. "And finally Damon, you'll be the getaway driver. There will probably be high security after the assassination so you might have to go undercover to get them out. I trust you to diagnose the situation." Damon gave him the thumbs up. "Does everyone understand their assignments?" Everyone nodded and with that he left the room. Thats it?

"What do we do now?" I asked Jupiter. "Go to the weapons room," She said with a smile. I laughed nervously. Weapons didnt exactly make me excited.

We walked up to a door that had a heavy security lock on it. Jupiter pressed her finger on the screen and the door gave a tiny beep before unlocking. "Faye needs to put you in the system," She said absent-mindedly. She pulled the heavy door open with a grunt and we were faced with a huge room full of guns, swords, knives, and other weapons. Jupiter walked over to an Led lit shelf and looked at the guns hung on display. She grabbed a matte black snipe and strapped it to her back. She then walked farther back and looked at a wall of hand guns. "Which one do you want?" She asked. I stepped back and held my hands up. "I-I dont want one, I'm good," I said laughing nervously. "Besides I dont even know how to shoot one," She raised an eyebrow at me before picking a white handgun off the wall. "Suit yourself,"
