Amidst the fiery clash between Samaira and Kabir, their forced marriage sparks a whirlwind of emotions, setting the stage for a captivating tale of love and intrigue. Little does Samaira know, Kabir harbors a mysterious past which she would soon bec...
As I stood there, adorned in bridal finery, I took a deep breath. This was the beginning of a new chapter, and I was ready to embrace it with all its uncertainties and promises.
Kabir's POV After enduring Naina's playful nose pinching, I was swept up in the myriad of wedding rituals, each seemingly more time-consuming than the last. Finally, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived: Samaira's entry for the Jaimaal ceremony. The air was filled with excitement and anticipation, and just then, a song began to play, perfectly encapsulating the depth of the moment:
**Ajab Si - by KK**
Aayi aisi raat hai jo bohot khush Naseeb hai Chahe jisse door se duniya, woh mere kareeb hai Kitna kuch kehna hai fir bhi hai dil me sawaal kayi Sapno me jo roz kaha hai woh phir se kahoon ya nahi? (It's been a night that's very lucky. The one the whole world wants, she's next to me... There are a million things I want to say but my heart questions me here. What I tell you in my dreams every day, should I whisper it in your ear?)
As these lines played, Samaira walked down the aisle. Her red lehenga glowed, accentuating her every step, and her payal made a delicate, melodic sound. Her hands, adorned with dark henna stains, prominently displayed our engagement ring on her left hand. Her netted red veil, sprinkled with rhinestones, partly obscured her face, yet her radiant smile shone through, completing her ethereal look. I didn't realize I had tears in my eyes until she stood before me, the song continuing:
Tere saath saath aisa koi noor aaya hai Chaand teri roshni ka halka sa ek saaya hai. (Grace and beauty walk with you. Oh, what a lovely sight. And the moonbows down to you, to beg for some ivory light.)
And I couldn't agree more. From this very moment, this song found its place at the top of my list. Samaira looked up, our eyes met and we both got lost in each other's eyes. As the lyrics flowed, our eyes conveyed what words could not. The world around us seemed to blur, leaving just the two of us in that magical moment. Her eyes, filled with a mix of joy and anticipation, mirrored my own emotions. I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude and love for this woman standing in front of me. With each step she took, she came closer to becoming my wife, and with each beat of the song, our hearts synchronized.
Teri nazron ne dil ka kiya jo hashar Asar yeh hua, ab inme hi doob ke ho jaaoon paar Yahi hai dua. (Your gaze has seared my heart so bad, it makes me wish to drown in your eyes forever never to surface again.)
"Yes. Indeed yehi hai meri dua."(Indeed this is what I wish for) I said loud enough so that just the two of us can hear what I said as I put the garland of white and baby pink roses on her.
Samaira looked breathtaking-calling her beautiful was an understatement. She lifted her garland, ready to place it on me, but before she could, Aditya and Rudra lifted me high in the air, leaving her with no chance to complete the ritual. My arm instinctively wrapped around their heads as I try to not fall. Laughter erupted from everyone around us as Samaira pouted, her annoyance evident. I smirked a little enjoying this show. I was already tall enough but now being on top of two 6ft men made me tower her like nothing before. She looked even more small to me at this height.
Naina's voice rang out from the crowd, "Put him down! This isn't fair," she said, glaring directly at Aditya.
"Sweetheart, you need to put in the effort to get this man; he's not going to come easy for you," Aditya replied with a wink, clearly enjoying the situation. I laughed at his comment my eyes still stuck with Samaira. Our eyes were enough to do the talking -- her pleading eyes looked at me , conveying her longing need to escape from the embarassment of being so short right now with no help. I kept smiling at her pout , my laugh agreeing to Aditya's statement.
"Oh, is it? Samaira, since he's not easy to get, you can just put this garland on anyone now. I don't think his people plan to put him down tonight," Naina said in the sassiest tone possible leading Samiara to a random dude standing by the side. Panic rose through me as my eyes widen. Naina was practically dragging Samaira away as now the tables were turned. A smirk stood proud on Samaira's face as her expressions screamed 'you'll never win from me' somehow mocking me.
"Put me down! Now!" I demanded. Aditya and Rudra sighed in defeat and finally lowered me. I knelt in front of her in defeat and She placed the garland around my neck.
The whole crowd erupted in cheers. Rose petals and marigold flowers showered down on us, creating a magical moment.
Standing up, we shared a smile that spoke volumes. This was it. The moment I knew I was ready to start this journey with her by my side. We completed the rest of the rituals, surrounded by our loved ones, their joy and blessings adding to the significance of the occasion.
As the night continued, with each passing tradition, I felt the bond between Samaira and me strengthening. Despite the playful banter and teasing, there was an underlying sense of unity and love. And as we took our phere, promising to support and cherish each other for the rest of our lives, I realized that this was just the beginning of our beautiful journey together.
Pandit Ji asked me to put sindoor in her hair partition. As I carefully applied the sacred vermillion, Samaira closed her eyes for a brief second, holding herself back from crying. Her vulnerability in that moment touched me deeply. "I promise you, Samaira, I will always keep you safe and will never make you cry," I vowed silently to myself.
Next, I proceeded with putting the mangal sutra around her neck, a symbol of our union and my commitment to her. With that final gesture, all the rituals were complete. I looked at Samaira, now my wife, and my heart swelled with joy. This was the beginning of our new life together. The crowd cheered more like our close family, showering us with blessings and flower petals. As we stood there, hand in hand, I realized that this was the happiest moment of my life.
Our families joined us, congratulating and blessing us. The love and support from everyone around us made the moment even more special.
As we prepared to take our first steps together as husband and wife, I whispered to Samaira, "Thank you for trusting me. I promise to stand by you through everything."
She smiled, her eyes still glistening with unshed tears, and replied, "Thank you for making me feel safe. I know we can face anything together." And with that, we stepped into our new life, ready to face whatever the future held for us, together.
