Mind Shadows
In dreams,
Mind flies without wings;
Thoughts rise and rise as
Shadowy Things,
that come and go
in circles round and forth—
Performing magic or horror
on Mind screen
like a puppet-show;
kaleidoscoping, crystallizing
me m o r i e s;
glimpses,
into a darkness,
forgotten long ago.
Mind remembers and releases
the Golden Child within;
The Child with dreadful, dappled fears—
When did those fears begin?
Mind takes Child by hand and spins
through Time’s gyroscope to find:
Child must face
the Monsters hiding,
in the Forest of her Mind.
Mind hugs Child,
crying inside,
tells her:
Let Shadows Out To Play—
free Mind to fly,
refuse to let,
the Monsters
rule the day.
