Months had passed since the council.
Leo had finally finished the Argo II and they were on course for the Roman camp. Coriane frantically ran around the ship, making sure everyone knew the plan, the back up, and the back up for the back up. She made sure the white flag was hung and visible.
Annabeth made sure Coach Hedge was in his room, nothing screamed peace like a satyr waving a club around.
The Argo II definitely wasn't friendly looking, a full on battleship with a dragon head at the mast didn't make for casual conversation and appear they were friend, not foe.
Leo frantically ran around the deck. Instead of a simple wheel, Leo opted for a Wii, monitor and keyboard, the set up of an aviation simulation, and a soundboard, making his life all the more difficult.
Piper paced the haul, whispering to herself. Coriane held her shoulder. "If you're not confident in the charmspeak, let me know. If anything I can do it."
Annabeth slowly blinked. "No, it's definitely working. She's whispering and I want to drop my dagger."
Jason stood at the very front, easy to spot. After the Romans saw the ship, they would hopefully see Jason and not fire arrows at them. Instead of Camp Half-Blood orange, he wore white and deep purple, the colors of his camp, the colors of his rank as praetor.
Coriane knew Annabeth didn't trust him, and Coriane didn't fully either, but he claimed Percy would be there and she wanted it to be true so she followed.
Coriane felt herself panic at the thought of Percy. What if he couldn't remember her? What if he met some girl who was way better than her and he decided to dump her for whoever that was?
She was drawn from her thoughts when horns sounded.
The Romans had spotted them.
Coriane ran to the edge of the ship and look down.
Camp Jupiter was almost double the size of her camp, there was a river that turned into a lake. There were landmarks from Rome everywhere, the city smartly called New Rome, and there was evidence of a battle. Coriane saw kids in togas walking out to get a better view of their ship.
She looked past the town and towards the fort ahead. It was like every Roman fort she'd ever seen described. Inside, there were a perfect line of barracks, maybe their form of cabins?
Roman troops emerged from the gates and she scanned the crowd, searching for a glimpse of those sea green eyes, but before she could even look at three soldiers, she was knocked back by a loud explosion.
Coriane whipped around to see a statue with a frown. "I will not have weapons inside the Pomerian Line, I will not have Greeks!"
Jason stepped forwards. "Terminus. It's me, Jason Grace."
"I remember you. I thought you had better sense than to consort with the enemies of Rome. Lucky for you, I've just been through a battle, otherwise I would've blasted this out of the sky!"
"Okay, calm down." Coriane tried. "I understand you're only protecting New Rome. I'm Coriane Tucker, daughter of-"
"Oh I know who you are! A child of Aphrodite, Venus' Greek form. Scandalous!"
After much bickering, Coriane looked down to the valley, scanning for him when suddenly, there he was. He had his arms around two kids like they were best friends; a boy with a black buzz cut and a girl wearing a Roman helmet. Percy wore purple just like Jason.
"Stop the ship!" Coriane shouted. "Look, there's no rule on hovering above New Rome, so we leave the ship here and drop a ladder down, problem solved!"
"And the Romans can't be armed either, it'll be a peaceful talk!" Annabeth encouraged.
