Tree's first nightmare was supposed to be a reference to an alternative timeline where things could've gone differently.
Because the readers were meant to vote on Tree's life choices like a game.
So it was supposedly an alternate ending of sorts due to a wrong choice.

But this is how Tree looks like in those nightmares.
And I would show you some other things about who specifically died in his dreams but I'll let you think about it.
There's two who died so I'll give you like hints.
The one who yelled in 'Why Now?' is mostly red.
The other one is mostly orange.
They're both friends.
