"The plan B didn't work." The words muffled through my ears. "Dustein!

"Dustein! Dustein?! Did you hear me?" Athaliah said in a fidgety tone.

"Plan B. Did not work," I said, flabbergasted. As soon as I repeated these words, I felt my heart climb to the top of my ribs and jump straight out of my ass. I became deaf to her. I could see Athaliah starting to give me a response. All I could see was that little beauty mark above the tip of the right side of her rosy lips jawing away. I tried to make sense of what she was saying. My mind wouldn't let me. I looked away from her.

My focus shifted to Coach Hickey on his old rigged rusty red lawnmower. Going a hundred yards this way and a hundred yards that way.

"Exantus High School" label on his hat, that use to be black, now brown was missing the "U" from "Exantus." I never noticed that before. He did have it since my big brother played for him ten years ago. I bet that hat could tell some stories of the golden days.

"The plan B didn't work." Those words muffled through my ears once again. I clenched both of my hands on to the stadium benches. I looked back at her. She was biting on her left index finger, while using the right fingers to scratch the fingers that were not in her mouth.

"You... You... You," I stuttered before I began to laugh hysterically.

"You said the plan B didn't work?"  While I gave an awkward smile. I began to play with the hole in my tights right above my knee cap.

"So, are you pregnant?" I asked cluelessly.

"Um? If the plan B didn't work, obviously I'm pregnant." She said in a nerve-racking tone.

"I can't be a father; I'm a fucking kid, my damn self," I screeched. I continued voicing my emotions.

"I'm fourteen, and you're eighteen. We can't be parents. This will ruin our lives; I don't know about you, but I'm college bound. I have already gotten interest letters."

Athaliah looked at me like I was a parent who had yelled at their spawn for doodling on their Modway Mingle White Three-Piece Sofa.

It felt like I drank a whole bottle of Hennessey and now spinning in a chair. I mean if I was the age  that you were able to drink.

"Why you had to tell me this before my big game versus Jonas?"

"I've been holding in for a while; I thought you should've known."

"And you thought this was the perfect timing? Before a game that will have top recruiters?"

"Um, well."

"The question was rhetorical."

"Heillfeire! Get inside the locker room and get ready. You can fling-a-ling-a-dang with your lady later," Coach Hickey yelled. I observed her as she stood there in a black dress that is basically a shirt. Long orange-reddish hair that could be the flames from hell.

"That isn't my lady, coach, but I'm coming right now," I gleaned at her. "Meet me after the game; we can figure out what we are going to do." And I walked away.
