"You stole his journal?!"
To say Yejun was mortified would be an understatement. Not only did she have her whole team in her living room, thankfully, her dad was gone, but they were all looking at her like she was the dumbest person on earth—and she probably was.
She knew Hyunjin having a book labeled 'Game Plan' was too good to be true, but instead of checking, she got up and left, texting Hyunjin one of her most used excuses: 'My dad needs me, sorry.' Not very creative on her end, but her dad did need her; she still needed to get ready to meet her new step-sibling. God, kill her now.
She made the mistake of texting the team group chat as soon as she acquired the book, which she was only added to after the 'steal the rival team's basketball plans' plan was kick-started, which was hurtful by the way, and they just HAD to see it as soon as possible, ignoring Yejun's attempts of explaining her busy schedule.
Anyway, back to her present. Yejun was sitting on her couch, wishing it would swallow her up. Her head was in her hands and she was avoiding all eye contact. She had stolen Hyunjin's journal. You know the book you write all your feelings in when you have no one else to talk to? Yeah, Yejun should probably invest in one.
She looked to her right and saw all seven boys huddled around Niki, who was unbashful about the fact that he was reading someone else's journal. Seriously, did they have no shame?
"Alright, that's enough." Yejun sighed as she got up to snatch the journal away from their prying eyes. Just as she was about to grab it, Niki jerked away, and the other guys moved to avoid getting hit. "Um, I'm not the one who stole it, so I might as well read it. It's only fair." "That makes no sense, give it here." Yejun finally grabbed the journal, resulting in a tug-of-war that was definitely not being filmed by the rest of the boys.
The scene went something like this; Niki was laughing his ass off while fighting off Yejun, who, by the looks of her face, was wishing she were dead. At some point, Niki had stood up, holding the journal over his head, which was a serious disadvantage; seriously, what did the boy eat?
Yejun's fight or flight kicked in, so she stuck her foot out and tripped Niki, both falling onto the floor. Niki grunted, the Journal falling from his hands and sliding across the room. While she was rushing to grab it, Niki took hold of her ankle, pulling her down.
As Yejun was seriously considering the pros and cons of killing every male in the room—yes, that includes the ones yelling, 'Fight! fight! fight! She heard a car door shut from the garage, halting all her movements. "Shit! What time is it?" Thankfully, sensing her urgency, the guys stopped what they were doing.
"5:26, why?" She couldn't answer, straining her ears to hear the footsteps making their way up the stairs. She was horrified. "You have to hide now!" She whispered. The boys looked at each other confused, but they couldn't ask because Yejun was violently herding them up the stairs.
Yejun ignored the bewildered whispers thrown her way, using all her strength, which wasn't much, to push them up the stairs. They finally understood, and they did the rest themselves.
Yejun ran to the couch, sat down, and hastily fixed her clothes and hair, trying to catch her breath. Her father finally emerged from the garage, with Mr. Kim trailing behind him.
"Yejun!" Said girl smiled, waiting for her dad to finish his greeting. "You look like a mess, why aren't you ready yet?" Her smile fell. She stood and gave a little laugh. "Sorry Dad, I'll go do that right now." Yejun made her way to the stairs.
"Um, Yejun?" Yes, dad?" Yejun turned around and smiled.
"Whose car is that outside? It looks god awful." Yejun did everything in her power to hide her wince. "I have no idea what you're talking about. Gotta go" She rushed out, quickly turning around and running up the stairs. Smooth, real smooth.
