Screams and wails echoed in the cold dark room.
The victim cried out with the last bit of vigour left in her. "Please let me go! I promise I won't tell anyone about you!".
But he was not in a mood of mercy that night.
He squatted down infront of his doomed victim. A chuckle left from his mouth, sending chills to the poor girl infront of him. "There is no way, I am going home tonight without taking a single soul with me."
The girl kept praying to him, to let her go but before she could make another sound, everything turned silent.
He ripped off the heart from his victim's body with his bare hands.
"And that's how the monster kept taking away hearts from his victims"- Y/n said closing the book that she was reading to her son.

"But mom why did the monster collect the hearts? Was he going to eat them all?"- Yoon asked sitting up on the bed being the curious cat he was.
Y/n sighed keeping the story book aside and took Yoon on her lap, getting herself ready to answer his all curious questions.
"Mom tell me! Was he going to eat all the hearts that he was collecting?"- Yoon asked again after settling down on his mom's lap.
"No my love, he didn't collect all the hearts because he wanted to eat them. But he did all that to save someone very special to him."- Y/n said combing Yoon's hairs with her fingers ,while the kid snuggled more closer to her.
"Mom do you know who was the person because of whom that monster kept collecting hearts?"- Yoon asked another question looking up at his mother, showing his big eyes to her.
Y/n knew that her son wasn't going to stop asking questions until she answered all of them for him so she answered him calmly.
"Love the monster did all that to save his love. He loved his wife alot but his wife had died and left him alone all by himself in this big world. But oneday he got to know from a witch that he can get his wife back but only if he successfully collects 7 hearts from the girls that looked same as his wife. And at first it was very hard for him but later he started to get used to it. Everytime he went to take heart from someone that girl used to look the same as his wife making him feel like he was going to kill his wife but he always kept reminding himself that those girls were not his wife and they just looked like her."- Y/n told while explaining everything to her son.
But Yoon still had many questions left but he asked the one which he felt was the most important one.
"Mom was he able to get his wife back?"-Yoon asked again.
"Love you are asking too many questions now. It's really getting late, you should sleep now."- Y/n said making him lay down on the bed.
"Mom please I promise this the last question for tonight and tomorrow is weekend day too, so you also don't have work. Please Mom one last question."- Yoon kept requesting until Y/n agreed.
"Fine but this is the last question that I am going to answer tonight. "- Y/n said laying down beside him.
"Mom did the monster bring his wife back?"- Yoon asked facing his mom.
"I Don't know about that my love. I have still not written that part of the story."- Y/n said pulling her son closer to her chest.
"Now sleep Yoon. When I will finish the story, I promise that you will be the first one to know about it."- Y/n said closing her eyes. While Yoon kept looking at her sleepy face while wondering , what would happen to the poor monster if he doesn't get his wife back. Will the monster forever be lonely in this huge world?
