An Ode to Karl Marx

He dreamed of a paradise for workers.

Everyone would have a job; No shirkers.

A society with no more classes.

Food on every plate; Drinks for all glasses.

His writings brought him much controversy.

He had no choice but to leave Germany.

He tried to find a following in France.

Like Germany, he didn't have a chance.

In England, he made himself a friend though.

They wrote the Communist Manifesto.

Then they formed the First International.

It broke thanks to the anarchist Mikhail.

His thoughts inspired hundreds of leading men.

Russia was transformed by Lenin; Stalin.

Mao took China in a new direction.

It was a Cultural Revolution.

From emperor to party chairperson.

From Czar to premier of the new Union.

The more things changed, the more stayed the same.

All in all, the end results were quite lame.
