[Previously On X-men] You discovered Jean was pregnant and had some fun hanging out with Jubilee at the arcade before an explosion forced you to jump into action, however some mystery woman was making her way to the X-mansion. ——————————————————————————————————————————
After getting back to the X-mansion I feel a little hot not that I'm surprised because I was still feeling the effects of absorbing that large amount of fire Jubilee wanted to help me but when she touched my skin it burns her so I keep my distance as I feel the sweat pour down my face. "We are almost back just a little more" Jubilee says as I gave her a thumbs up but as we reach the gates I suddenly notice someone behind us which makes both me and Jubilee look to see a woman only I knew who this was as I tell Jubilee to stay back.
"I didn't expect you to be here so soon but I believe it's around that time" I tell her as Jubilee watched the scene before her however she could tell I was in no condition to fight. "I have been waiting for this day to finally beat you old man" she says as I smile before taking a fighting stance as she does the same.

"This will be my victory old man" she says as we rushed in at each other as she goes for a kick but I catch it before taking her down with a leg sweep but she counters with a handstand in order stop herself from hitting the ground. "Not bad but I'm only warming up" I tell her as I jump back allowing me to have a little distance as I go to shoot my flames at her only nothing happened as she used this as a chance to go on the attack as she used her own mutation to transform into a humanoid monkey.

After transforming I quickly put up my arms to defend myself from her barrage of punches however I soon gets kick into the air but I soon feel her wrap her tail around my ankle before slamming me into the ground. "What's the matter old man don't you like it when I monkey around" she said however I quickly go to my feet and smile before I feel my body heating up but this time it felt like something had changed as I begin to understand. "So you believe I lost huh well lets see you deal with me now that I have evolved" I tell her as an aura of fire and lightning surrounds me as the ground cracks under my feet making her step back a little.

"Wow that's a little much don't you think" she says as I just rushed at her with blinding speed only appearing on contact showing my flames had evolve to all new heights as I grab her leg and gave her a spin before throwing her into the air. "I feel the flames burn within me and now for the release" I tell her before shoot a beam of fire and lightning towards her as she falls from the sky.

I had won but I soon realized I was going overboard and decide to cancel my attack as the woman lands and transforms back into her human form. "Hell old man were you trying to kill me" she says as I apologize before Jubilee rushed over trying to make sense of what was going on before I explain everything. "Jubilee allow me to introduce Ruby my daughter" I say as Jubilee was shock to learn I have a daughter but I quickly explain why we were fighting and she understood it's a way for us both to see how strong the other has got.
"This is crazy I never would have expected you to have adopted a child so Ruby what's he like as a father?" Jubilee asked Ruby as I sigh while we walk into the mansion. "Well he is strong and kind but most of all he always did the best for me" Ruby says as I look at my hand wondering if my power could grow even great the more I train but still only my fire has evolved but that just means I had more to learn.
"Jubilee mind giving Ruby a tour while I go cook up some dinner?" I asked as Jubilee nods as they walk away and I saw the smile on Ruby's face telling me she was happy and that made me happy as I head into the kitchen to prepare a meal. "Lets see what should I make maybe some nice ramen" I tell myself as I grab a piece of meat before starting to prepare the meal it reminded me of when I would cook for Ruby and how she loved my cooking. After hours of cooking everyone came to enjoy the meal but I was happy to see everyone welcoming Ruby and once we all finished I asked Ruby if she would stay at the X-mansion at least for a little while which she agrees to so I got Rogue to show her to one of the empty rooms while I clean up.
*I think meeting the X-men has changed a lot in my life but now I need to get stronger so I can protect my new family* I thought to myself as I finish washing the dishes before walking to my bedroom but on my way I noticed storm was outside sitting on the grass looking up at the stars I could keep walking but I decide to walk over to her. "Hey storm can't sleep?" I asked as she looks at me with a gentle smile as the cool night air blows against my skin.
"I'm simply looking up at the stars enjoying the feeling of the night air would you care to join me?" Storm asked as I smile before sitting next to her and look at the stars as we sat there I began to wonder how much we as people still have to learn when it comes to ourselves.
