He didn't know what had driven him to come back here. Be that as it may, he snapped twice in front of Poe's statue.

He slowly descended the stairs leading to the library, listening to any odd sounds, making sure the path was safe. But he was the intruder, wasn't he? In the end, that was of no consequence for him.

He looked around when his feet touched the sculpted flower covering the floor.

"Revelio."

The cabinet protecting Rendell's ancestor's bones appeared, beautifully out of place – like himself. He hadn't been able to stir his eyes away from it when they had come the day before. The entity had screamed at him, pulling him at its heart, forcing him to come back.

He discarded the spells Lily had set in place, just the time for him to open the display case. Without hesitation, he reached for the clavicle.

He had never touched a dead body before. It was easier than he had thought. Deadly calm settled over him as he gripped the ivory bone in his hand.

He flicked his wand to set the spells once again. The wrought iron case disappeared.

Peter climbed up the stairs for the last time, without looking back.
