Carlo approached the girl sitting on the edge of her bed, her demeanor subdued and her voice barely audible as she mumbled a response to his greeting.

"Hello, Eugéne!" Carlo greeted her warmly, his concern evident in his tone as he took a seat beside her.

"Hello..." Eugéne replied, her voice barely above a whisper as she cast her gaze downward, a sense of melancholy hanging heavy in the air.

"How are you?" Carlo inquired gently, hoping to lift her spirits with a friendly conversation.

"Everyone says that I'm sick," Eugéne responded, her words heavy with sadness as she revealed the weight of the judgments placed upon her by others.

Carlo's heart went out to Eugéne, knowing all too well the pain of being misunderstood and labeled by society. "They always say that! They are just stupid!" he declared indignantly, his voice filled with righteous anger at the injustices Eugéne had faced.

There was a brief pause as Eugéne absorbed Carlo's words, her expression thoughtful as she considered his offer. Finally, she spoke up, her voice tinged with uncertainty.

"Are you leaving tonight?"

"I will, if you help me!" Carlo replied earnestly, his gaze locking with Eugéne's as he conveyed his sincerity.

Though the path ahead was fraught with uncertainty, Carlo knew that he could count on Eugéne's support as he embarked on his journey to uncover the truth and reclaim his freedom. And as they shared a silent understanding, a bond of friendship formed between them, offering solace and strength in the face of adversity.

As Eugéne spoke, Carlo's curiosity was piqued by her cryptic words. "The key? Is there a key inside the office?" he asked, his mind racing with possibilities.

"I saw the doctor write a secret code," Eugéne replied, her voice barely above a whisper as she revealed the tantalizing clue.

Carlo's brow furrowed in thought as he considered Eugéne's revelation. "A secret code? To open the yellow door?" he pondered aloud, his mind racing with the implications of what he had just learned.

But before Eugéne could respond, her demeanor shifted, her gaze fixing on a point behind Carlo with a mixture of fear and trepidation. "He doesn't want me to tell you..." she murmured, her voice trailing off as her eyes widened in terror.

"Who?" Carlo pressed, his gaze following Eugéne's line of sight as she pointed towards a nondescript wall in the room.

"Him..." Eugéne whispered, her voice barely audible as a sense of dread washed over her.

Suddenly, the wall behind Carlo began to shimmer and warp, its surface rippling like a pond disturbed by a stone thrown into its depths. And from the depths of the shimmering portal emerged the creature from the night of Carlo's parents' murder, its presence casting a shadow of fear and uncertainty over the room.
