Chapter 9- Triage

"This is no time to hot talking!" Rachet pointed out.

The Jackhammer continued to shoot at Laserbeak until it disappeared.

"He's gone. Now we can go find Soundwave-" before Rachet can go on, Laserbeak flies past them.

The Jackhammer continues to fly after Laserbeak while shooting at it. Rachet and Periwinkle scream as they're about to crash into a cliff. The Jackhammer flies over the cliff and after Laserbeak. Wheeljack fires lasers at it like crazy while flying closer to Laserbeak

"What are you doing?" Rachet asked.

"Wheeljack!" Periwinkle yelled.

Laserbeak flies past them. The Jackhammer turned around and continued pursuing the drone. One of the lasers hit Laserbeak's wing.

"Joke on that, 'Con." said Wheeljack.

"You did it!" Rachet cheered.

Laserbeak shoots at the Jackhammer's thruster as it falls down the sky. The Jackhammer spins around as it crashes against the ground. Wheeljack, Rachet, and Periwinkle get out of see and look at the damaged ship.

"Ah, right thruster's fried." said Wheeljack.

"If you had pursued Soundwave as I instructed-" before Rachet can go on, Wheeljack interrupts.

"His little birdie would still be pecking at our tailpipes." Wheeljack pointed out.

"Well we need to resume our search for the relic, immediately. Soundwave may already have reached it." Rachet stated.

"The Jackhammer's not going anywhere. If you both want to catch that 'Con, we need to roll." Wheeljack tells them. He starts to walk off

"Make up your mind. Are we walking or are we driving?!" Rachet asked.

Wheeljack noticed Laserbeak and brings out his katanas. He starts to approach the damaged drone.

"Keep your distance, Jackie. Laserbeak is the eyes and ears of Soundwave." Periwinkle points out cautiously.

Wheeljack uses his katana to flip Laserbeak.

"Not anymore it isn't, my Pera." Wheeljack stated.

Periwinkle felt her faceplate heating up when the fiery Wrecker called her 'my Pera.' Later, Soundwave transformed into robot form and lands near the edge of a cliff. It dectects for Laserbeak. Back in the forest, Rachet uses his scanner to analyze Laserbeak.

"Operating systems appear to be functional, but offline. However, the crash clearly damaged it's optic and audio receptors." Rachet informed.

"Good for us." said Periwinkle.

"Guess someone's gonna need a new snitch." Wheeljack says cockily.

"A minor victory and not the one we are here to achieve." Rachet pointed out.

He starts to walk off.

"Hang on there, Doc." Wheeljack tells him.

Rachet growled in annoyance as he turned around. Wheeljack tosses a grenade in his servo.

"Situation's right for an old Wrecker trick."

"I'm..not sure I follow." Rachet says in confusion.

"Sooner or later, Soundwave's going to come looking for his pet. He let him reunite and return to Base, pack in a live grenade. The first time Wave reaches inside, he trips the pin and Kaboom." Wheeljack explained.

"Why plant a mere incendiary device? When we could plant a more devastating bomb." Rachet stated.

He walks towards Laserbeak.
