Script 21: Shatter

Yunjin lightly lets out a breath as she looks around, her mind going absolutely insane. The scene at the resort, replaying in her head over and over. Mercilessly fucking up her thoughts. Surely, the students at ACE Academy had already heard about it.

She wonders what they think of her now. Being a part of the basketball team that they were currently against. They probably think that Yunjin had the guts to still show up after what she did at the resort.

But everyone knew it wasn't her fault. Right...?

Yunjin takes another step forward only to be blocked once more.

"Just pass the ball." Hwang whispered and Yunjin momentarily looked up and they immediately met eyes. "What?"

"Pass the ball. I won't even steal it from you if you want."

Her tone wasn't threatening. It wasn't in a mocking way, either. She actually sounded genuine and Yunjin was suspicious of her. Why would an opponent tell you that?

"You're insane."

"And you look tired." Yunjin takes a look at the clock once more, she has 3 minutes left. "Pass the ball, Huh Yunjin."

The redhead huffs, dribbling the ball a lot more aggressively as she narrows her eyes, "I don't know why you're telling me this- I don't know if you're helping me out or leading me to fall into your damn trap."

"I'm only trying to prevent something bad from happening."

Yunjin takes a step back and Hwang doesn't move anymore. Yunjin grits her teeth as she thinks about how Hwang Yeji was looking at her with those pity-filled eyes. The same look she hated seeing other people have on their faces when they looked at her. She didn't need to be pitied. She didn't need anyone's pity.

Especially when it's from someone she doesn't even know. From an opponent.

Yunjin clicks her tongue before surging forward and taking the ball with her. Hwang Yeji pretends to chase after her but it was obvious that she let Yunjin get away easily which only made the girl feel like absolute shit.

She gritted her teeth as she left Hwang Yeji behind.

The crowd cheers louder. She isn't sure if it was coming from her academy or the ACE Academy but she didn't stop. She felt her left knee buckle as she took one forceful step. She was only able to save herself by dribbling the ball and composing herself in under a second.

The pressure was on as she caught a glimpse of her other teammates on the bench, standing up, screaming, and cheering for her.

She had to shoot this ball. She sees Kazuha running on the other side with another player running and chasing after her.

Yunjin could easily get past all these idiots. She knows she can. But as she took three more steps closer to the ring, suddenly, the other team left all their spots and came running towards her.

Closing in, not even daring to look back at Yunjin's other teammates.

At the last minute, she hears her friends shouting her name as she jumps and tries to shoot the ball. Yunjin didn't understand what was happening as she was only focused on the hoop right in front of her. It was so close, she was sure she would be able to get the ball in.

Suddenly, she felt someone heavy hit her back and it made her gasp in surprise and pain. The heaviness never left as she released the ball and she felt her body quickly falling down on the ground.

She felt hands on her.

On her arm, her back, her legs. It felt like she was being pulled downwards.
