Before anyone could say another word, they hear someone running and they all turn to look. They see Yeonjun sprinting towards them as if in a hurry.
"Yunjin is in the infirmary now," He huffs, "They say we can come by and visit her in a few."
Everyone shared a look. They all have this look of relief on their faces but the concern was still there. Thick and looming in the air. They only know where Yunjin is but they don't know if she was already doing alright.
They all collectively agree to go and visit Yunjin as a group.
And while everyone wordlessly followed, Chaewon walked slower than the others. Her feet and legs are heavy as she takes small steps. What was it that was making her move slower than the others?
Does she not want to see Yunjin? Maybe. Does she feel guilty? Maybe... but she feels this feeling in her system. A hollowing feeling, as if her chest was becoming empty and it hurt when she took a deep breath.
Minju walked slower than the others as well, walking beside Chaewon but not at the same pace. Hers wasn't uncertain like the older girl's. Her legs were not heavy, she knew where she was going and there was only one reason as to why she was walking slow. And that was because she wanted to wait for Chaewon. To match her pace but not quite.
They no longer make eye contact as Chaewon seemed to refuse to look up at Minju. She focuses on the ground instead. Watching her feet as she takes a step a little later than the others. She knows she's getting left behind and they would be a few feet away from her when she finally looks up but she doesn't mind.
"Whatever's bothering you, it'll get better." She hears Minju's voice and they both finally stop.
Her shoe taps against Minju's as she halts. They were close together and she feels how warm Minju is as the younger girl holds her arm with the gentleness she so longed for.
But the longing of feeling Minju's warmth and gentleness was no longer there. The spark and the feeling of the sudden falling of her heart was nowhere. She felt nothing.
No electrifying feeling, she felt nothing of the sort. She felt nothing magical. Nothing enchanting. No gut wrenching feeling.
Right now, Minju is only a person. Flesh and bones and no feelings could be felt when she's around. And if Chaewon wasn't scared before, she was now.
"I don't..." Chaewon starts, still looking down at both their shoes. "I don't feel you anymore." She says it in a whisper like a weak wind passing by. It's barely there, you feel it pass by but you don't feel its coldness.
But surely, Minju heard it.
The taller girl chuckles, "I-"
Chaewon holds her hand and intertwines their fingers together. "This," She grips Minju's hand tighter "I don't..."
Minju understood. She knew. She knows what Chaewon meant by it. She knows what the older girl wanted to tell her and she knows what the older girl truly feels at this moment.
"I know, unnie." She finally says and Chaewon shuts her mouth. Their hands fall on their sides, no longer touching. No longer intertwined.
"I've noticed."
"How could you have noticed? You weren't even there- we weren't even together-"
"That's exactly how I knew." The younger girl cuts her off and Chaewon finally looks up at her. Minju didn't look sad. She looked understanding and calm. She has always looked that way.
Her big, sweet eyes are still there. The same eyes that Chaewon always longed for, way before she even met Yunjin. Way before she saw Huh Yunjin's big bright brown eyes.
