Chapter 11. [End]

Start from the beginning

"Those were pretty good observations Lyn. I knew Dexter was the one behind it because he stole some ingredients from me to mess with the suppressants. The reason why you didn't immediately go to heat was because I replaced some of the materials he needed with less potent ones. If I knew what he was going to use it for I would have already caught him but the prince wanted me to lay out a trap and collect evidence. Otherwise I would have...."

"Wait we'll come to that later. How did you guys find me in the first place?"

"Easy, Aiden. Dexter didn't know you were mated so he also probably didn't know that Aiden could find you, wherever you are, as long as it's in the country. It's a bit hard in extremely magic dense places but not when you got me and the prince helping him. The only reason we were even able to get evidence this quickly was because you got kidnapped. Originally we were planning to find out through the stolen artifacts but that kid knows how to hide his tracks well; really a shame. Then I noticed you hadn't come home and you never go anywhere without telling me so I immediately informed the prince. He freed Aiden and the rest was as you know."

"What's going to happen to him now? I know he's done terrible things but I do think he has a point with the whole omega and beta thing."

"It's just not that easy, Lyn. Dexter's going to prison after he heals. The other nobles were never going to support him; they only needed someone to overthrow the prince. But the prince has been working on some of the stuff on his own. He's a strange guy really. He seems to know so much and so little like he can control the future but only specific moments. He didn't know the culprit but knew Dexter's motives. Well he's a good ruler so that doesn't matter."

"Dexter's healing? Didn't you guys just arrest him?"

"Oh I wanted to throw in a couple of punches myself but your lovely mate beat me to it. You can't even recognize that bastard now; it took me, the prince, his guard and few others to hold him back. He wouldn't let go of you either till we reached here and then proceeded to glare the place down. I would have knocked him out if his pheromones didn't help in stabilizing you. The healers are still scared of him. I had to send Beatrice and Allen some of the mulled wine I painstakingly made. Now they have warmed up to him but really the first day was a nightmare. And don't you smile innocently like you didn't know that this would happen Lyn!"

"Yeah yeah sorry. Isn't he so cute? And don't worry I plan on thanking and repaying the healers myself and I'll make Aiden apologize even if he already did. Ah, I just want to fu-"

"Well me too but who decided to go get-" Suddenly the door opened and Aiden came in with a basket overflowing with food accompanied by a familiar looking person.

"Sunshine, sorry to interrupt but I got you some of the stuff you like. Oh and this is Luke the guard Alexander sent me."

Llewyn didn't speak because he was staring at Luke and then at his brother.

"What's wrong sunshine?" Aiden asked oblivious to the tension in the room.

"Eden, that's your lover right?"

"Luke! What did you do while I was gone?" Aiden turned towards his guard.

"I- I can explain, my lord..."

Meanwhile in the palace, Prince Basil opened the curtains to his massive windows. His silk robe hung loosely off his shoulders and his tousled red hair stuck out in weird places. Basil caught a sight of his own reflection of the window. "I will never get used to seeing me like this." Basil mumbled as a pair of amber eyes, his own, stared back at him. He stretched his arms upwards and took note of the things he had to do that day. There was still dealing with Dexter left, the signing he had to prepare for, the conflict in the north and his other personal endeavors.
