MARCELO'S POV:

'you got this bro,' my brother says to me, dapping me up before i go on stage.

'thanks bro,' i say, walking up on the stage.

'welcome ladies and gentlemen to the 101th annual gala, we are happy for you to celebrate and join us with this celebration, our families have led this country for many years and since hard work pays off, we should have the right to celebrate our achievements," i pause and search the crowd and see her, i wink at her, causing her to become a little flustered.

'there's something my grandfather used to say, 'bez pracy nie ma kołaczy,' which translates to 'no pain, no gain,' this phrase emphasises the importance of hard work and that nothing in life comes for free so you have to work for it, just like our parents did and our forefathers so with that said enjoy tonight and remember that hard work pays off,'

the crowd erupts into an applause and i step off the stage.

'you did amazing!' my mother says, giving me a hug. 'i'm so proud of you,'

'yeah bro, you did really good,' my brother daps me up, giving me a side hug.

then my dad walks up to me, moving as sinister as ever and surprisingly gives me hug, 'you did good, my son,' he says, still engulfed in the hug.

'thank you father' i respond, stepping back from the hug.

'finally, we can eat dinner,' my mother says, rubbing her swollen belly. 'remember i'm eating for two!'

my mother grabs onto my father and drags him towards the table for the parents of the chosen families.

'can we go to our table and eat now?' my brother aks, seemingly desperate to get food.

'let's go then, i'm actually starving,' i respond, starting to walk towards our table.
