Its A Wonderful Life

"Aww my baby. Look who has a new tooth. You are getting so big now aren't you. Yeah." Travis cooed, lifting the baby out of her crib and over onto her changing table to change her diaper. Luckily she hadn't gifted him with any massive poop explosions that morning, just the usual business to attend to which Travis deals with swiftly before finding Luna a new onesie to wear. He would of course get her dressed properly for later on that day but for now it didn't matter. He just wanted to get her into a new, clean onesie; one that wasn't covered in baby dribble. He quickly made his way downstairs to grab one of the teething rings that Taylor had placed into their fridge for just in case Luna's teething got any worse over that weekend they were there. Grabbing it in one hand, combined with the bags of cards and presents he had bought for Taylor's birthday from himself and from Luna, he made his way back up to his and Taylor's room where Taylor was sat up, wide awake and scrolling through her phone smiling. She was obviously looking at the birthday posts and messages from all of their closest friends and family members as well as some of the fans posts on Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. 

"Happy Birthday Mommy!" Travis sung as he entered the room with Luna and the presents. Taylor's jaw dropped when she saw the sight of the two of them but it soon melted into a wide smile across her face.

"Oh wow. You guys have been busy." Taylor remarked, looking at the pile of presents that had now fallen onto the bed out of Travis' arms. He came round to his side of the bed, placing Luna who still had her teething ring in her mouth and was chewing away at it happily, in between them.

"You shouldn't have babe." Taylor said, gesturing at the pile of presents and cards. "I didn't ask for anything for my birthday."

"I know you didn't, but I didn't listen. You deserve the whole world baby."Travis smiled, placing a kiss on her lips as he lent over Luna.

"My whole world is right here in this bed with me. Well almost all of it." Taylor laughed, remembering the four animals they had left back at home in Kansas City. When they would only be gone for a few days they would just have one of their close friends who lived nearby come over to feed them and walk the dog. It was only when they would be away for longer periods on time on holidays or when Taylor was back on tour again that the cats would go to live with Andrea in Nashville or would travel with them to wherever they were living. 

He watched as Taylor reached for the first card at the top of the pile as Luna occupied herself with some of the paper that Taylor had discarded onto the bed sheets. The card made her heart melt into a puddle on the bedsheets.

"Awww Tay." Travis wrapped an arm around her, Luna still intent to try and eat the wrapping paper on one of Taylor's presents. She was like their dog sometimes. 

"Oh I don't know why I am crying. I just came over all emotional." Taylor chuckled, wiping her eyes with the sleeve of her pyjama top. 

"It's ok Tay, you re allowed to be emotional on your birthday. It is your day after all, and your first one as a mom." Travis replied, stroking her arm lovingly as she reached forward to grab another present from the pile. There morning continued from the bed, opening presents and eating breakfast, interrupted by Luna throwing egg at Travis which landed in his eye.
