Chapter 62 - A Good Gift

Start from the beginning

"Ha..." I sighed loudly. "The one time I don't pay attention leads to this," I smacked my forehead as punishment for my lack of sensibility.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[ Who am I giving a gift to again? ]

[ Sudo-kun. ]

[ Did you by any chance, forget about this, Fukumoto-kun? ]

[ I'm sorry. To be honest, it did slip my mind. I've been pretty stressed out recently with class and student council stuff. ]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That text wasn't true. But it was a valid excuse for my blatant forgetfulness. A white lie that Hirata would surely fall for.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[ If anything is troubling you, Fukumoto-kun, feel free to talk to me. Don't keep it all to yourself, I'm sure there are people around you that would be willing to help you no matter what. ]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What a man.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[ Thank you, Hirata, means a lot. ]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welp. Looks like I'll have to head to Keyaki Mall now and try, and find a gift that would suit Sudo.

But I really wish I could just stay in bed.

Bed.

Sudo's gift.

Bed?

Or Sudo's gift?

After some very serious deliberation, I decided to get out of bed and get ready to head to the mall.

I'm sorry, my faithful mattress, maybe some other time.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are quite a few people at the mall already, I thought to myself.

The mall had just opened a couple hours ago, and students had already filled every store in the mall. Maybe it was because of the free time from the break.

Or because it was Christmas Eve, students wanted to spend their time with friends and close partners, rather than staying inside a dorm all day.

As I slowly walked through the mall, I scrolled through my phone for cheap gifts for teenage boys on the internet.

Like, what was I supposed to do with a budget of 2500 yen?

And on top of that, I barely know what Sudo even likes. I know he plays sports, so that could be easy to find him a gift.

He'd probably like some manga or anime too, but I don't know what specific ones.

I don't think he'd be mad if I got him some food or candy, but then again, he might be on a specific training diet.
