"Well, let's not waste any time!" I shouted, rushing out of the room as Evan followed. As we started to walk out the door, Riley stopped us. "Mom, Dad, where are you going?"
"Urgent business!" I exclaimed, which technically wasn't a lie.
"But so soon?" all three children whined, trying to get us to stay.
"Sorry, kids, we'll be back soon!" Evan called.
"But Moooooom!" Riley whined.
"And Auntie H is gonna come over!" I chimed in. "You like Auntie H, right?"
"I guess," the boys muttered.
"And... if I hear you're well behaved, we might get you a prize!" Evan exclaimed before ushering me out the door, and I closed it behind us. I stretched out my metallic wings, picked Evan up in a bridal carry, and flew high into the sky, scouting for the woods from above.
"This... there it is!" Evan exclaimed as he pointed below us. Once I found a clearing, I swooped down, holding tightly onto Evan.
